Last week Friday (15th October 2021), I went to Pep store at Vander Walt and Vermeulen Street (Pretoria CBD). My girlfriend went to early labor and we were not prepared. We haven’t bought the baby and mommy clothes for the hospital. I went in the store not knowing where to start or what to buy. The sales lady by the name of Gugulethu, came to my rescue. She was extremely patient, empathetic, kind and most of all helpfully. She helped me with all the baby essentials, clothes, basically everything and more that I needed for my baby girl and she also went over and beyond, in helping with my girlfriend’s pajamas, morning shoes and clothes for going home. She helped me to choose everything and I saved more money than I could have imagined. Everything was value for money and good quality. When she told me that she was still in training, I couldn’t believe because all the time she was helping, she knew where everything was and she spoke highly of the quality of the clothes and everything in the store. I wish everyone could get the same customer service as I got from Gugulethu. My small family and I are eternally grateful of the customer service we got from Gugulethu. My girlfriend is planning to go to the store to personally thank her for helping me. Pep store at Vander Walt and Vermeulen Street is the BEST. Thank you again Gugulethu.

Hello Peter

Last month I made a internet banking deposit into a wrong ABSA account, yes that was my fault. After releasing this with the provider that I was paying I then notified my Prestige banker to start the process of a recall. I was requested to sign the forms and then send them a prove of payment which was completed. The problem with this process is that the banker had to e-mail the signed form to a department within standardbank called TPS which works only e-mail and has a turnaround time of 3-5 days. I didn't have a problem with that I had to wait since I am the one who made the mistake.

I then went to ABSA bank with my prove of payment then ABSA Branch manager was willing to help, she phoned the person who I deposited money into, the person agreed that the process of a recall can start then ABSA branch manager said this can only be initiated by my bank(standard bank) then I waiting patiently knowing that there is enough money into the account that I deposited money into since we verified from ABSA that the money can be recoverable.

Few days later I went to the Bank since I was not getting an update from the Banker, I complained then a day after my complain the below was the respond. I was left with one option to take this the legal route, but something told that since the person was willing to give back my money what changed. I then convince legal advisor to give him a call, he said that is still willing to give me back my money he just need the bank process to do that since there is fraud out there which I understand.

I feel that this TPS department failing me here, they not pushing hard enough. I know for a fact that the bank doesn't waste time if there find money in your account that doesn't belong to you they will reverse the transaction without your approval if they can prove that money doesn't belong to you.

I feel it is so pointless to be a Prestige Banker, I am paying for a service that I am not benefiting from. TPS department can only work on e-mails sometimes we need a one to one communication instate of e-mails. This is not helping, the banker should have a contact number to dial if there is no update.

My question is if standard bank TPS can't help me, who do I escalate this to so that I can get my money bank?

Is there an institution that can help me resolve this bank matter since this money can only be recalled by a bank.

Please see below answer we received back from the agent bank.

Ref 117239

Unsuccessful

No authority to debit

Your assistance will be highly appreciated

Tshepo Kekana

********** 255
