Warning: NOT TO BE TRUSTED!!! Mr Loffie Botes, quoted on a 10KVA Solar system - 2 Inverters, 2 batteries and 12 x 540W Canadian Solar Panels. I accepted the quote and paid the deposit as requested. He asked for more money before he commenced with the job. I made several payments to him. Eventually, the system was installed. And the final payment was made. A Total of R187 199.04 The day he installed the panels - he sent me a photo of the Canadian Solar Panel label. I also asked him for the invoices of the components that he bought - for my own peace of mind - he refused to give them to me. The system was not working properly. Melting cables, tripping etc. We checked the COC – it was dated 2 months BEFORE installation took place. The Electrician was not registered. I then got another Electrician to do the COC which Loffie had to pay for after fixing a few things. I spoke to him on numerous occasions explaining that my electricity usage was still very high. I asked him to check if the panels were working correctly. He never did. Always had an excuse. I eventually compared the photo of the label that he sent me to other photos of Canadian Solar Panels on the internet - only to discover that what he sent me was a photo of a **** panel. I confronted him and he said he would sort it out. Apparently, his supplier said they were not ****. I then got the Electrician that did the Valid COC to check the panels for me. I had to pay him R600. But it was worth every penny as he saw that the panels that Loffie installed were 400w Goldshine and not 540w Canadian. I have now been waiting for more than 3 weeks for him to replace the existing panels with Canadian panels which I paid for - but he is not doing it and always has an excuse. I phoned him and messaged him again today - I just get ignored! I have given Loffie enough time to sort everything out as I did not want to go this route – but he has left me with no other alternative. Perhaps, if he reads this, he resolve the matter.
