I wrote a review here a couple of weeks ago and was happy to have somebody from Std Bank contact me quickly to resolve my complaint ie to simply close a credit card account. After supplying a written letter and other details I was assured the account was closed. Well of course when I checked yesterday it is still not and that is why I'm trying again. How can such simple request be so difficult and why was I lied to?
I am recently resident in NZ and I have tried multiple times (including through my personal banker) to cancel my Standard Bank Mastercard - credit card. Each time the response is go to your local branch. Because of the time zone difference it is also very difficult to phone (and expensive). Just amazed at how poor the service has been (PS I'm a loyal customer of over 30 years!)
<p>I have received 4 or5 telemarketing calls from this company and no matter how many times I tell them I am not interested in them or their product they keep on phoning! That's poor and irritating service.</p>
