Dear Avis, I am writing to formally dispute the unauthorized charge made to my account in relation to the vehicle I rented from Avis on Thursday, 24 April 2025 at 11:57 AM. The rental vehicle was a silver Suzuki Swift, registration LW26YT GP. Upon receiving the vehicle, a joint inspection was conducted with your staff, during which I immediately noticed and reported damage to the left rear fender. I expressed my dissatisfaction with receiving a vehicle already in a damaged state. The Avis representative assured me that the damage would be documented on the inspection report and that a replacement vehicle would be delivered the following day. The damaged vehicle was indeed collected, and I was required to sign a return report. On that report, I explicitly noted that I did not cause the damage, and that the car was delivered to me in that condition. Your representative acknowledged this at the time. To my shock and dismay, Avis has since debited funds from my account without any notice, prior consent, or communication. I received no phone call, explanation, or documentation justifying the charge or confirming any agreement from my side. This conduct is wholly unacceptable and may constitute unauthorized debit and potentially *****ulent activity. I demand that: The full amount deducted be refunded immediately. A full explanation and itemized invoice for the charge be provided. The damage claim (Claim Number 527703875) be closed, as the damage pre-existed my rental. Written confirmation be sent to me within 5 business days confirming that no further charges will be made without my explicit consent. Please consider this my formal notice of dispute. If the matter is not resolved promptly and satisfactorily, I will have no choice but to escalate this matter through legal channels, including but not limited to filing a complaint with the Consumer Protection Office and initiating legal action to recover any losses and damages incurred.
