The Reptile Garden at Stodels, Bellville is indeed very beautiful with a large variety. But don’t try to buy anything from their little shop next door, because service is non-existent. With great difficulty, I have been buying mice from them for my pet snake for the past year and a half, but yesterday was definitely the last time. There is never anyone in the store to help you. You have to press a bell …. repeatedly. And if you’re lucky, someone shows up after a while. In the past, after a very long wait, I had to walk into the enclosure to look for someone. You really must have time and patience. Yesterday was another one of those days, but worse than before. After pressing the bell repeatedly, I started calling “hello!!!”, but nothing happened. I then walked, like many times before, through the enclosure while calling all the time… for a long time, but no one in sight. I then walked back to the shop, pressed the bell again a few times and called all the time. Yesterday I was in a hurry and my patience was running out. Could no longer stand like this and wait for nothing. Then I did something completely against my principles and decided to help myself. With the packet of mice in my hand, I stood around for another while, walked through the enclosure again and called, but still no one in sight. I then walked to Stodels’ checkout where I wanted to pay for other purchases. All the time my conscience was eating me up, but for how long do I have to wait for service? When I finished paying, a man walked in front of me (called Bjorn Unger) and asked if I was in their store just now. Immediately I said “yes”, took the mice out of my bag and told him that I am very sorry that I just took it, but there was no one to help me and that I’ll pay for it right away. In an aggressive way he grabbed it from my hand and started shouting at me in front of all the people, even though I tried to explain everything I did to get attention. He just went on and on!! I have never been so humiliated in my life before. Needless to say, I didn’t go back to buy the mice. If he had handled the situation differently, it could have been so much different. Good customer service would be, “sorry ma’am no one was there to help you, but please come with me for payment”. This man definitely lacks training in human relations and how to provide a service to the public. I’m just wondering if I’m the only one experiencing such poor service there.
I wish I could give them a minus rating!! I ordered a Personalized Clock on 22 September 2022 to be delivered to my friend for her birthday on 24 September 2022 in Kuils River. Everything was confirmed with a Receipt via email, but never arrived. No progress was shown on the tracking either. Monday morning my friend received a message asking if she was happy with her delivery on Saturday and luckily she informed me. I followed up via a phone call and was told "sorry, this item is out of stock and we can't tell when new stock will arrive". There was NO communication from their side at all. This is totally unacceptable!! Needless to say, I asked for a refund. This was the first time I ordered something from Netflorist, but also the last time. No apology whatsoever!!
We had a return flight between Cape Town and Port Elizabeth during October 2017. At Cape Town International Airport the staff at Flysafair check-in were very friendly and helpful, but the experience at Port Elizabeth Airport was totally different. On Saturday, 21 October 2017 we checked in for our flight from PE back to CT at 13h40. Shortly after that we went through security. Unfortunately I made a big mistake by putting a knife I bought at Kloppers, in my hand luggage. I realized they had to take it away, but because I did not want to lose it, I asked where I could hand it in for storage until it could be picked up. They sent me back to the check-in counter and the unfriendly staff there, sent me to the Ticket Sales counter of Flysafair. The lady assured me that they will keep it there for 2 days to be picked up. I asked her to mark it with my name, but she said it was not necessary. I asked my sister who stays in PE to pick it up at that particular counter. When she went there this morning (Monday, 23 October), they told her there is nothing. According to this person, they send everything handed in on the same day at 10:00 o'clock the evening to Humewood Police Station for destruction. Now I wonder who is lying; the lady who helped us on Saturday around 13h50, telling us they keep items for 2 days OR the person who was on duty this morning, telling my sister they only keep items until 10 o'clock the evening???? I will not be surprised if they take the items handed in for themselves instead of sending it to the police station for destruction. SO BE WARNED, IT DOES NOT HELP TO HAND IN SOMETHING AT SAFAIR'S COUNTER FOR SAFE KEEPING!!!
