Booked Ivory Manor for a garden event for 20 people. On the day we went for site inspection we asked if the hotel has time limit we were told no by the staff. We wanted a garden party. Paid secured our booking in October. 18 November was the date of our event. When we arrived at the venue to set up. We were told that we didn’t book the garden, we booked a small room at the back of the hotel. Please note we requested that the venue provides us with 20 ghost chair for our guest and we were providing tables ourselves which wouldn’t fit in the said room.However the staff at the venue had already set up our flowers were waiting for our tables and the garden. The small room the management claimed we booked was not set up. When we argued this the manager in charged told us we did not book the garden they have an even and we have no right to be upset and we were taking chances. We later came to a compromise that we will use the garden for 2 hours and move to the pool arear. When we moved to a pool arear, we had no waiter waiting on us. When we requested the waiter the manager said have overstayed and there were doing us a favor. We paid R8546 for their venue and their service, with an understanding that we have unlimited. It was only 6pm and our event had started 2 pm. The manager didn’t care about our experience at the hotel. She continuasly told us their were us a favor and we taking chances with our demand. Very unprofessional and rude.
