Wine tasting
I went to the Beau Constantia wine estate with a friend of mine and from the minute we walked in we were ill treated and told there was no available table and when we saw a group walking out and wanted to sit at the table they left we were told they went to the toilet (all three of them with their bags and all). We literally forced the lady to give us a table. We waited 25min to get a menu whilst the lady next to us arrived after us (a white lady) and she was served well before us and she was on her second glass of white wine by the time we were served. This lady was only having white wines for her tastings and when I asked to also have white wine only, I was told they don’t do that and it’s against company policy. Blatant racism. Then as soon as I informed the manager of this she said oh she is probably buying a bottle that’s why she can taste only white wine and when we said we would buy the white wine in that case they reinforced that they aren’t allowed to serve us only white wine and said just because it was done to one person doesn’t mean it should be consistently applied to us. The waiter came and sat next to us explaining how wrong we were for asking to be treated fairly and that it’s not their company policy when it was happening next to us so blatantly. At the end they apologized and said they were wrong and the tasting was on the house and the manager said he was joking and we ought to pay for the rubbish and blatant racism my friend and I experienced
