The guys and dolls at Suzuki Bramley are first-class: friendly, accommodating, knowledgeable, helpful. I am often given valuable, unasked-for advice and tips concerning driving my Swift. The car recently developed a most fearful clatter under the bonnet. I was too scared to drive it & ordered a flatbed truck to take it from my home across town to Bramley. The guys discovered it was only the front fender that was loose - and fixed it without charging me. Red-faced me! The free coffee while waiting is very good. Thanks! Paul S
Bottega Cafe Parkhurst requires customers to add a COMPULSORY gratitude of ten per cent to their bill. Since when is a tip compulsory? The spaghetti bolognaise dish I had was overspiced and somewhat overpriced. These days restaurants are screaming for customers - but their prices have skyrocketed. My guess is that the restaurant sector is simply overcrowded. Many claim they can't survive if they can't serve booze. Maybe the real problems lie elsewhere?
Doppio Zero Greenside Joburg is a great place for a coffee, a snack or a meal. You can sit inside or on their wooden deck. Food is excellent - best hamburgers I know of. Prices seem OK. A cheerful welcome one gets at the entrance; waitresses are polite, well-spoken and quick - they even enjoy my silly jokes. Baked products such as baguettes (and other goodies) can be bought at the counter - always new & fresh.
