Profmed - Just like the rest with a glossy coat of paint.
I have been a Profmed member for almost 30 years - with virtually no hospital claims for myself or my family. We spend more than a R100k+ a year with them. My daughter now requires facial surgery and the medical aid won't cover it. Despite written motivations from specialist doctors for the procedure. They sell themselves / and my broker does as the professionals choice. This is just branding. Don't fool yourself and feel that they are anything extra/better than other medical aids. They are not. It's lip service and brand positioning.

No service in 15 year !
Do not work with STP Insurance Brokers. I have had a policy with them for +- 16 years. I have had no correspondence (not one call) from them in 15 years. They still have my previous home address insured from 15 years ago. Their response is that they post yearly policies to that address. Beware - they don't provide any service, they take your money and hide behind the minimum requirement for yearly contact via post - whether you get your post or not. While earning a monthly service fee. Imagine if you needed to claim .
