Warning.
If you have any dealings with presh (head client coverage) jabulile (norwood manager) or nick (head consumer segment) take your money and run. Fancy titles, big ego's, zero talent. The only managers with any ethics are moving to ABSA while the dregs remain.

Just when one thinks that the ******* at standard bank can't sink any lower, they prove you wrong. 13 months after an account was frozen without warning, I received an sms today stating that the account wasn't fica compliant (the account has been active for over 10 years). sim, presh, jabulile, you are disgusting.

Avoid Substandard Bank
For over a year, the inept, head client coverage presh, and Norwood branch manager jabulile have failed to provide a reasonable solution and prefer to block my posts. Huge egos, zero ability. IOL, BusinessTech, Sowetolive, news24, Moneyweb, DailyMaverick, The Citizen and others, now name and shame them. I hope the money was worth having your names dragged through the mud. Think twice before trusting standard bank with your money - check out the hundreds of negative posts on Hellopeter.

Avoid standard bank
A year ago, standard bank decided, without warning, to freeze my son's account because it was an account meant for under 16's, despite the fact that he was already 21. All they had to do was move the money into one of several other available accounts, but that didn't suit their agenda. Since then I've been ignored by ceo tshabalala and fobbed off by 'head client coverage' presh and Norwood branch manager jabulile - fancy titles, zero skills. Wonderful way to treat a customer of 45 years. Judging by the amount of complaints here, it's what std bank specializes in - *****ing from customers. PS - std bank immediate payment R50+ Capitec immediate payment R6. Avoid them. Unfortunately I learned that too late.
