Didn't take me seriously. Didn't listen to what I was telling her. Didn't care, she left the hospital room suddenly and in a hurry and I didn't see or hear from her again. I have Hashimoto's and I'm going through a flare up. It's not the first time I've had her as my endo and she didn't listen the first time either. Never again.
Let me start with the empty and false promises. We looked at the venue 8 months ago, immediately fell in love with the scenery and decided to get married there. We noticed that all the venue hosting areas were basically in the same space, so we asked them if there would be any other functions happening while we were having our ceremony - they assured us that we would be the only function happening at that time in that area. They told us that we must put down a deposit immediately to book our date, so we did. Soon after that they kept pushing for the payment to be done, we ended up taking out a loan to pay the full amount. We went with the most expensive food package, because we are foodies and feel that the one thing people always talk about after an event is the food. We paid R600 p/p. Now, after we paid we found that they were impossible to get a hold of, we had to beg for 2 months to meet with the in-house DJ ( not allowed to source your own) and also with the chef. Eventually 2 weeks before the wedding we were able to finally meet with the chef while we had our rehearsal, we also had to do our table mock-up on the same day. They changed the entire menu 2 weeks before the wedding so we had to redo the whole thing. 1 Week before the wedding we finally got a food tasting, half the ingredients were missing from the food, so we couldn't really taste the meal as it would be on the day. Then 1 month before the wedding they told us that someone accidentally booked 3 functions at exactly the same time and area as us, but they assured us that they resolved the problem by moving the other ones up by an hour, which gives us some privacy. We were concerned about the music interfering with our wedding and they once again promised that this will not be a problem. We then asked about the cancellation policy and they said that no matter how many months before the event you wish to cancel, there's NO REFUND. We were stuck. On the day - We found out that they had 12 events!!! The tiny parking was so full that the guests had to **** their cars together. when we arrived, no one assisted us, so instead of getting ready, I was running around, trying to get things done. They put me in the wrong room - after I requested a specific room 8 months ago and constantly reminded them. The room they put me in had a tiny mirror and no bath so I ended up getting into my dress sweaty and dirty, because I couldn't shower after my stylist spent 2 hours blow drying and styling my hair and doing my makeup. While we had our ceremony the other guests at the event right next to ours started playing music with babies crying, talking loudly and being rude - I mean, have some respect, our ceremony was only 30 mins long. During the reception I had to constantly run after staff members to try and get champagne that was supposed to sit on our mimosa table, the food we tasted and the food we received were completely different - the roast potatoes tasted old, soggy and wasn't at all what we ordered. The lamb ended up being 2 different types of lamb thrown into the same dish and heated up ( we know this because we tasted both at our tasting) the amazing croquembouche tower with strawberries was just a heap of soggy pastries on a dinner plate. The pork was raw. The chicken cordon blue had sweet chilli sauce blobbed on top instead of cheese sauce as requested. The next event was so loud that our guests had to shout at each other. Then, halfway through my event I was told to get my stuff out of my room because someone else needs to use it now. I changed out of my dress in the public bathroom. What was supposed to be a special day ended up being a nightmare that will stay with me for the rest of my life. I had to get a pie on the way home, I was so stressed out and busy running around that I never even ate. This is something that will stay with us forever. They ruined a beautiful event. Our Wedding day. I would not recommend this venue to anyone. Unless you are keen on your special day turning into a horrific carnival.
