Had my Mother's vehicle repaired in February. I was pleasantly surprised with the efficient service, the response time and the quality of workmanship. Cannot fault you on anything.
Dealt with my vehicle accident claim like a bunch of clowns. First they tell me that the car has been send to a panel beater for assessment, but that they (Esme on behalf of Inequity) cannot disclose who the Panelbeater are or where my vehicle was, really?? At this point I stopped talking to them and used my Broker. Next I am informed that the vehicle has been written off since the damage was in excess of 65% of the of the value of the vehicle. I find that I have no say in who repairs the vehicle or where. I also establish that the value the vehicle has dropped significantly over a very short period of time, but off course, they still take my money at the rate I was insured with the value of the vehicle about 20% more. I then went to the Panelbeater and established that they have quoted on damages that was not related to the accident and that their quote was very inflated. I notify them. this is more than 2 weeks down the line. I was advised that they have requested a revised quote from the repairer. Another week down the line I drop in at the repairer, only to find that they are in dispute with Indequity regarding the quote and I am asked if I will be prepared to pay in an additional amount (over and above the excess) in which case I can have the vehicle the next day. It is now going for 4 weeks for minor repairs ( a control arm, 4 tyres and rims fitted, balanced and aligned. I am sure my patience will be rewarded with a heavy increase on my monthly premium. What a joke.... it may be a "scorro-scorro" vehicle, but it is one of 4 insured with them. Why should I trust them or for that matter their suppliers to insure or repair the other more valuable vehicles if this is how they deal with my claim?
After having difficultty re-charging my Vodacom account with pre-paid airtime/ data, I called their Customer Care on the 20th of June 2018 ( ref. 202c5462d5kyf6) and explained my predicament. In essence, does not matter in which way I re-charge my account, the balances will not reflect on my account. The money wilm be out of my pocket and I will receive a system generated response confirming my purchace from their system, but the balance on my account will remain zero. After proving to them that the problem was a system problem on their side, they admitted the mistake but to date I still cannot use my phone as there are now funds reflecting. Even if their "Sollutions Experts" try to credit my account from their side, it does not reflect. A new month have started and my account should have been recharged in terms of the contract, but there is still a zero balance. Every time I follow up, I am told that my enquiry has been closed and they will give a new reference number and the process will start from scratch. ( Current ref. 1- ********** 827862). The result is that I am paying a monthly contract and I get no value since I cannot use the service; I have spend hundreds of rands re-charging and the money have misteriously disappeared into Vodacom's pockets; I have spend hours on the phone receiving empty promises and rude comments from Vodacom staff; I travelled to visit one of their stores to physically report my problem in person with no luck; I had to buy a starter-pack, airtime and data from another service provider to stay connected; I had to inform all my contacts (ar my cost) that my number have changed and have lost many potentially valuable calls, e-mails and other communications in the process. I also discovered that Vodacom's Customer Care systems does not allow for written communications and are designed to only suit their own interest at the expence of the people who pay for their business. This is so ridiculous, in today's day and age when we, as paying customers rely on these mobile services to put a roof over our heads and food on the table. It is not just unlawfull business practices but also morally corrupt ones. I hope that people reading this will make an informed decision when deciding on doing business wit this kind of company.
