Bought a new JAC bakkie and after 1 year the car developed a hum. Took it to William Simpson where we bought it from and was told the front wheel developed a flat spot due to the ‘heavy’ canopy we put on - bearing in mind the bakkie is designed for 3/4 ton and this canopy is a standard aluminium fitted for a DC bakkie. Bottom line - William Simpson will only guarantee the tyres for 3 months - so if you thinking of buying a JAC build new decent tyres into the price as your tyres on the JAC will not last very long.
The Lesotho Exemption permit website is shocking! People are charged R1 090 to apply for a permit. On entering the date of birth, the website captures the wrong date but you cannot rectify it. The edit button does not work - and telephonically I am told that the system is broken??? When paying, the money comes off my account IMMEDIATELY (they seem to get that right) but cannot go further to get an appointment date. Again I have to phone to be told that they will sort it out and phone me back on the same day - that was yesterday and guess what ... Not right to charge so much for such bad service!!!
I left my wallet at Pick n Pay on William Nicol - customer service managed to find my number - possibly from my Smart Shopper card - they contacted me and my wallet was safely returned - thank you for such wonderful customer service!
So after more than 2 years of informing Vfs Global that they made a mistake in capturing a passport number, they have finally come back to me to inform me that the passport number was captured incorrectly and the applicant must rectify it - even though it was their mistake!!! How does this place get to treat people with such contempt and get away with it. Portia Mlangeni, the Deputy Manager of Information Serivces who was dealing with it is either in a meeting or is off sick, she doesn't respond to emails and now when I try and deal with someone else, the operator is so irritated at me and sighs so deeply as she says she will transfer me, then doesn't, so I phone back, am transferred to the team leader who is not available so I leave a message and can almost be guaranteed that there will be no return call. It is despicable how an organization can get away with this!
On 10 July I got a reply from Vfs Global that they would respond in 2 working days. Not sure when they work but it is now 16th and no resolution to my problem of a working permit being paid for over 2 years ago with no delivery of such a permit. Is Vfs so arrogant as they have no competition that they can treat their customers with such contempt?
I helped apply for a Lesotho Special Permit. The cost was R970 and the department captured the ID number incorrectly. This was 2 years ago and still nothing is being done about it. We have emailed, gone into the centre and the response given is that all rectifications will still be done - 2 years down the line??? She was told twice that it is ready for collection, goes all the way to collect, to be told that it has not been rectified. You cannot contact anyone or speak to any person that can give a straight answer. As far as I am concerned, this organisation is making a lot of money from people and accept no accountability to produce what has been paid for.
