We bought an RDP house through an Agent. We went to Heynz and Partners office where the paper work was completed. We were then instructed to pay the full amount of R160 000 to the account they gave us, saying that that is how they do in the township otherwise the seller looks for another buyer. On the 23rd of March we paid the amount. We then realised the following week the house was sold to another buyer. When we wanted our money back, the agent plays hide and seek. I requested the representative at Heynz to give me the registered name of the agent so that we can report the agent to the board. They do not have details. Our problem is that we would not have paid the money without the participation of a law firm, so we thought the deal is legit, The seller paid us the R100 000 in June but niw the agent is not giving the R60 000. It is now six months since we are requesting our money bsck to no avail. Our question is how does Heynz and Partners issue title deeds of houses sold by unregistered agent who is charging 40% from an RDP house sale. Is this a scam or what? We were sold a house that was not available and now we are not able to get our money back. Please help us
