Gems exgratia
Gems rep**** and I was contacted regularly after complaining on this platform, but i am still waiting for the outcome from the exgratia board, hoping for the best outcome though. All thanks to hellopeter and the Gems customer care team. Will comeback with the outcome n I hope It wont take months for them to give me feedback, like i said, its urgent.

Gems exgratia
Gems has been sending me from pillar to post since June trying to apply for an exgratia, since they advised me to do so after rejecting my daughter's claim. They keep on saying my quote is not visible or i should convert to word. Its been 1 excuse after another. The funny thing is that the call center consultants don't see anything wrong but when it gets to the exgratia department there is always a problem. Worse I I can't speak to them directly as the call center claims to not have their direct contact. I have to spend money I don't have to call them. This situation is affecting m as it is affecting my child mentally. She no longer wants to go to school because of the way she looks, as other kids bully her. I had to take her to a psychologist becoz if dis. Gems is a **** of a medical Aid and i believe they are doing this to us because they know we have no where to run.

Gems is the worst
I have been applying for an exgratia since june as my daughter has a dental problem which affects her emotionally n mentally. I even explained that she no longer wants to go to school or want to be around people as they laugh and make fun of her due to her condition and i also sent doctors motivation, yet nothing is being done and I have to keep on calling them using money I dont have . when you send documents they keep telling you stories and requesting you to resend.This affects me seriously and im also under chronic due to this frustration. If i could afford i would pay. Gems also have proof of my finances, yet not helping.Gems is the worst and this is proof that our government doesn't care about us, that id why we are only subsidized if we using this **** of a medical.scheme.

Unicare is horrible
Yho, this is the worst psychiatric hospital I've ever seen. They don't change linen nor clean rooms and bathrooms properly. There is no good hygiene xem. The food yhoo it's very bad and they re-use disposable containers. It feels like prison we are locked up like pit bulls. We don't have enough game only handcraft session, no gym, no Wi-Fi the televesion plays 1 channel Instead of healing u become worse, from depression to bipolar.

Gems medical Aid claims payment
Im a Gems member who has registered for a maternity programme and have been experiencing problems when it comes to payment of claims. 1st pathology tests related to pregnancy where done and gems paid half the amount, stating ive exceeded my limit while it was my 1st test. Secondly i was admited at net care due to pre-term labour without delivery, the medical aid rejected the claim of R15350 and also the my gynea. ********** 39
