I was recently hacked through my Facebook business page (which is now blocked by Facebook) The hacker managed to access my Capitec account and withdrew two amounts of R4079 . I have an online purchase limit of R2000 which was bypassed by making it a recurring payment. I received no notification sms from Capitec ( which would have afforded me the opportunity to quickly stop my card on the app ) When I logged the call to Capitec, I was very clear about the fact that I teach swimming and cannot answer my calls whilst teaching and had a special request of receiving a text in the event that Capitec couldn’t reach me… asking me to return their call. I did receive one such text and instantly called back to a recorded conversation with Capitec. I was at Capitec Meadowdale mall yesterday and asked to follow up as its been close on 2 weeks since the investigation started… only to discover that they have closed the investigation on one of the 2 amounts with the excuse of not being able to reach me. I have not received another text as notification of them attempting to contact me. It feels as though they are trying to get out of reimbur*****t this way. My main ref no is 86223128 and my follow up ref no is 86884945.
Hello Peter. I had an awful experience with these people who also own Cell Bar at the Boksburg indoor flea market opposite East Rand Mall. I bought a cellphone from them for my daughters birthday. I told them exactly what I was looking for and was also prepared to buy a used phone for affordability. When the one shop never had a demo model of the phone I bought, they sent me to their other shop around the corner. After confirming that the phone I bought (the demo model) could do what I requested , i.e take a later android update, I bought a screen guard and left for home with my son. Once home my son attempted to update the phone only to discover that it was not possible to update. We immediately returned to them requesting a refund. They flat refused, even after I reported the incident to their managers office. The owner insisted he would buy the phone back minus R600, claiming that they had opened a new boxed phone. I eventually asked my husband to come from work to support me as I was close to tears at this stage. We requested that management view the video footage the owner claimed to have but to no avail. I finally had no choice but to accept a deal of them buying the phone back minus R300. They blatantly ripped me off even though my 14yr son was witness to everything and tried to stand up for me with management, who could have helped but didn't.
