An iPhone I purchased via Takealot (provided by PhoneCityTM) was a stolen consignment which Huge Connect purchased. With the assistance of Vodacom (operator of our contract), Huge Connect and PhoneCityTM we got to the bottom of this and discovered that PhoneCityTM, in good faith, procured it from Talk Cellular (who appear to be buying stolen goods). Needless to say we found out by suddenly, one day getting "no service", because 18 months later, the phone was blacklisted that it was stolen. It took 4 days of trying to get to the bottom of it. PhoneCityTM replaced it and all three corporates collaborated so well. Not only are we as law abiding citizens victims of fraud and criminality, but so are the ethical corporates! Unfortunately the SAPolice are not doing their part and criminals who commit crime are walking the streets months after the fact!

Hello Peter. I had an awful experience with these people who also own Cell Bar at the Boksburg indoor flea market opposite East Rand Mall. I bought a cellphone from them for my daughters birthday. I told them exactly what I was looking for and was also prepared to buy a used phone for affordability. When the one shop never had a demo model of the phone I bought, they sent me to their other shop around the corner. After confirming that the phone I bought (the demo model) could do what I requested , i.e take a later android update, I bought a screen guard and left for home with my son. Once home my son attempted to update the phone only to discover that it was not possible to update. We immediately returned to them requesting a refund. They flat refused, even after I reported the incident to their managers office. The owner insisted he would buy the phone back minus R600, claiming that they had opened a new boxed phone. I eventually asked my husband to come from work to support me as I was close to tears at this stage. We requested that management view the video footage the owner claimed to have but to no avail. I finally had no choice but to accept a deal of them buying the phone back minus R300. They blatantly ripped me off even though my 14yr son was witness to everything and tried to stand up for me with management, who could have helped but didn't.
