Absolutely disgusting service. Robbery at its best, WARNING – DO NOT MOVE WITH JOHANNESBURG MOVERS, I REPEAT – DO NOT EVER MOVE WITH JOHANNESBURG MOVERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! MY STORY: I was moving down from Johannesburg to Nelspruit end September 2018. I found what I thought was a well-established and reliable moving company and made that call which I now feel was the worst decision I’ve ever made with utmost regret. The truck arrived 31 September 2018 and collected my stuff. Our Nelspruit home was not ready yet so we arranged to stay a at lodge and for our stuff to be kept at the storage facilities cost per day till we are sorted. We stayed at the lodge for about a month whilst our stuff was-what we thought safe at their storage . Finally we made the call for release and deliver at a cost of about +-R3000 adding to the initial cost for delivery of +- R13 000. We where told by the manager(Madeleine )that we cannot simply call and request delivery, a date or booking must be made. Ok…when checking with one of the driver , he confirms “ but there are always drivers available “. Staying at a hotel in Nelspruit we get confirmation of delivery and move into our new home to await deliver – All our belongings finally delivered, or so we thought. The following day I realized the fridge has a dent , metal dishrack is missing a component, back boards of the TV stand are loose and the back cover of the washing machine is off, who is responsible for this …we decide to send an email knowing that this is not the service we should get after paying over R15 000 for delivery . Our stuff was packed in boxes and after unpacking we realized that some stuff was missing!!! A few Items of clothing , tools and cutlery . We continue with our lives and sent a second email. As time passes I find that there’s way more stuff missing which was not noticed...or rather now stolen, so much stuff that I was unable to create a list for this post . The second email had a list of all item missing forgetting the damages caused from the move , mostly men’s clothing . The stuff was definitely stolen as the items missing are selective or specific : 4 pairs of shoes , 5 Jeans , 4 Shirts , 4 Jackets , 2 shorts , hair cutting machine , tools , baby’s bag, 2 watches , detergents , cutlery and we not sure what else-personal stuff that is irreplaceable and valued at +- R10 000 combined after paying +- R15 000 for the move(How do I go about my daily life with half my clothing stolen). The manager(Madeline) never responds and behaves as if its just another day in the office . I called the office and the receptionist(Diana)laughs at my story. Finally getting through to the manager( Madeleine ) begging for assistance and she asks if I took out insurance for the move to add to the +- R15 000 we paid . Why should I take insurance with a moving company as I’m trusting you guys won’t throw my stuff around or break anything never mind steal the only clothes I have after paying +- R15 000 for the move .I was told by the manager(Madeline)that I should have listed every item on the item list when booking the deliver…HOW CAN WE LIST EVERY ITEM IN A HOUSE HOLD BIG AND SMALL ON A PAGE OR ARE WE SUPPOSED TO CREATE A SPREAD SHEET WITH EVERY SOCK AND S**** LISTED , I’ve been ****ed but now its something else and nobody is interested in resolving my issue . It’s been 2 months now and still no assistance or communication , my whatapp messages just get read- and we all know what that’s like . Now I’m spending my festive season trying to recover what was stolen from me,Ho Ho Ho!!! , daily stressing and trying to communicate and get a resolution…My saddest thought was still tipping the divers after delivery .
