Avoid buying a Sealy Crown Jewel Cortez mattress at all costs
Something I feel I have to share publicly so that anyone considering buying a bed can avoid. Sealy South Africa have carefully crafted fine print, so there’s no way to claim for this ‘defect’ and I’m stuck with the most uncomfortable bed ever. Please do your research and think before you buy a bed - it’s honestly the worst thing to climb into a bed you hate every night and have the worst sleep ever, lying in a hole because the mattress has such deep impressions in it - it was sold to us as one that did not take the shape of your body and that was a blatant lie. This is my letter to Sealy and The Mattress King: To whom it may concern, I bought a Crown Jewel Cortez Plush mattress at the House + Garden Show last year, which was delivered on 4 July 2018. The first 4.5 months sleeping on it were great, however it is now almost impossible to get a good night’s sleep. Despite rotating - which we have done every 8 weeks since purchase - there are deep body impressions on both sides of the bed - which after investigation online I have discovered are not ‘defects’ and therefore will not be covered or considered in your warranty. So I’m not writing to you to try make a claim, as I know this will be rebuked - I’ve read all the fine print and there will be no recourse in this instance, so I’m not even going to bother. Instead I write to you to express extreme disappointment, that an item which was sold to us with the promise of years of comfort has turned out to be the worst purchase I’ve ever made. A mattress is something you sleep on every night, which is the reason I chose to invest in this one, in order to enjoy going to bed each night and in order to benefit from its advanced design and comfort. That is most definitely not the case and I wanted you to know that I will be telling everyone I know, to avoid this mattress at all costs, as well as to carefully consider alternative options when considering such a high value purchase.
