With all the load shedding we experienced, I wanted to install a solar system and was looking for a pure sine wave inverter as modified sine wave inverters are not recommended for sensitive electronic equipment as it causes hum in induction motors. When calling them, I was told their Lairun product was on special. When I got there, I found it to be labeled "pure sine wave inverter." I was told to take it to their test bench. While waiting for it to be tested, I was called away to where they were testing the solar panel I also bought. Upon returning to the test bench, I was told that the inverter was tested while I was away and took their word for it. After connecting it at home, being an electrician myself, I noticed the fan motors were humming and knew it was not a pure sine wave. I checked it on my oscilloscope and confirmed my suspicion. I took a photo of the display and went back to them. I was treated very hostile when I told them they are selling a fraudulent product . As electronic "experts" they should be well aware of those inverters not being pure sine wave although labelled as such.
