I have bought a R96k Ups System through Barbara at UPS Warehouse and added the delivery/installation/commissioning option to ensure that nothing can go wrong with my installation. A technical team from UPS Warehouse came to my house and installed the system, approved the integration of the UPS System with my current solar system and commissioned the device. The unit was activated early in May 2021 and 3.5 days later the system malfunctioned and was badly damaged. I logged a call and the technical team came to my site to inspect the faulty unit. They told my installer, who is a very highly qualified artisan, that they have no idea what could have caused the damage as they have never experienced this before. They took the unit in for repairs. The company billed me R14766.32 for the repair which should have been a warranty claim as nobody could explain what caused the damage with even 50% cer*****y. Neil, the company expert, came to site and was as confused as to the cause of the damage and found nothing wrong with the installation or integration of the Ups unit into my current system. Ups Warehouse did the commissioning!! Barbara from Ups Warehouse, sent me an email, which proposed a replacement deal on my request as I had no faith in the product anymore and wanted to find an amicable solution to the problem, which would be mutually beneficial . We settled on a deal only to come to a conclution that the product which would be the replacement for the Ups and an extra R28248.60 that I had to pay to the company, was not compatible nor approved to integrate with my system being a combination of Victron and Fronius. Obviously Ups Warehouse, Andrew and his supplier Hubble Lithium disagreed with the findings but neither of them wanted to endorse the use of the product in my installation on paper. Andrew from Ups Warehouse then decided to revert back to the first deal as I told him that I can not swap one product unfit for the application for another product unfit for the same application without company warranty and guarrantee. I asked for a full refund under the Consumer Protection Act which clearly states that any product that you purchase should at least live up to the expectation. 3.5 days and the unit failed completely!! Ups Warehouse has recieved R96k for the initial purchase, an extra R14k for the repair, an extra R28k to facilitate an incompatible product and R5203.00 for delivery/installation/commissioning. Andrew has sent me his very first email during this mess last night to inform me that I can ask for a quote from Ups Warehouse to re-install, pay it and then they will deliver the repaired unit to my site or I can send a qualified person to fetch on my behalf and sign off the unit. No warranty claim, no guarantee that the unit is suited for my application, no refund on the unit!! Plse don't make the same mistake as I did!! This is only the beginning!!
I have ordered a cover for my Jacuzzi from Kenneth and paid him R6800.00 He told me that it would take 7-10 working days to finalize and to be delivered to me. After numerous calls to him and empty promises, I decided to cancel the order and asked for a refund. Kenneth paid me R3800.00 last Friday and promised to deposit the balance on 28 May 2021. Needless to say, he has not made the deposit and ignores all my calls and messages. I will go to his place to collect the balance!! Do not trust Kenneth or any member of The Jacuzzi Team.
About a month back I decided to re-tile my entire house. A friend said that he would approach Tony, the owner of Kempak Tiling, to obtain a quote for the job. Jaco, my contact, sent Tony a complete scope of work with area square meters and asked for two quotations. One with labour only and one with labour, glue and grout which I received. Maria, the office manager did the quote and I had to pay a deposit which I did. A week after payment to them, George, the supervisor, and two tilers with sidekicks came to my house and the scope of work was discussed in detail. This was the only time I saw George, never again!! The team started the job, and slowly, very slowly progressed up to about half way. Then they walked off the premises and never returned. After numerous phone calls to Maria, she informed me that the scope of the job is not what they expected and the first set of quotes are not valid anymore. I have all the facts on email. Kempak wants extra money immediately, which I paid and would send me a new quote which needs to be paid upfront covering the whole job to be done. I am not sure if I am stupid or ignorant but I have NEVER heard of full payment for a tile job upfront. The team from Kempak has ripped my wooden flooring to shreds, (I have the photographs), they have left half the job without washing the tiles or grouting them and Maria did not seem to care about my email to her personally confirming all the relevant facts. This company does tiling for huge business parks and shopping centers, so I have heard. Maria said they were very quiet when we approached them and could start immediately. Tony has never contacted me nor my friend who has dealt with them in the past. This was a terrible experience from a company who is supposedly perfectionistic. Not in my world!!
