I recently purchased items from Chavda. Initially cautious, as it was my first purchase from them, but my concerns were quickly settled. The order acknowledgment and communication was excellent and delivery turnaround was super fast. I’ll definitely return when again in the market for quality power tools at the right price. I can highly recommend, without and reservation.

BUYER BEWARE!! I purchased 2 sports watches which qualified for free delivery (pretty standard for online purchases in 2019, right?). The parcel was delivered to our local post office by Speed Services. When I opened the sealed, bubble-wrapped and TechnoPro security buff taped parcel inside the post office building I noticed one of the watch boxes was not manufacturer sealed with the original cellophane wrapping and the box sleeve containing the serial number was missing too. Upon opening the box I noticed the watch was also missing. The second watch was fine. I immediately contacted Felicia at TechnoPro and was advised to email a photo of the package, which I immediately did. I was then advised that a courier would collect the empty box from my home the following week. I insisted that TechnoPro replace the watch at the same time that they collected the empty watch box. Kobie Van Zyl, TechnoPro's boss, insisted that he needed to receive the box back in order to investigate the theft with the supplier and Speed Services. In good faith, I released the box to the courier believing I wasn't being scammed. When the box arrived back at TechnoPro's premises I received a short email from Bianca in their support department to say that because I had not opted for insurance the onus was on me to claim from Speed Services. There was nothing more they could do for me. Note that TechnoPro now has my empty watch box and my money. I got one watch for the price of two! When I suggested to Mr Van Zyl that "free delivery" typically means that as the supplier you place the goods in the purchaser's hands, he rebuffed this by stating that his company's Terms and Conditions state that goods are sold "FOB Origin". This effectively means they can offer "free delivery" as a means to lure unsuspecting customers, hand the goods you've already paid for to anyone of their choice and any loss or damage to your purchase before you receive it is your problem entirely. TechnoPro's staff have refused to meaningfully engage further. I've had my phone calls terminated mid-sentence and been told categorically by Mr Van Zyl that by not opting for insurance, quote: "you knew what you were in for..." unquote. Ok, so this means TechnoPro can send me an empty parcel and then turn around and tell me, "tough luck, you should have insured it"? When I enquired too about security and CCTV footage in TechnoPro's dispatch/packing area I was told I would not get to view it without a court order. So there you go, nice profitable business model if you can dupe enough people for long enough. As the old saying goes, 'penny wise, pound foolish'. The lesson here: a cheaper deal ends up costing you more in the end when you transact with unethical people online. I've noticed TechnoPro's social media doesn't allow for customer reviews and their website product reviews are edited by management. Incidentally, TechnoPro's supplier has gone to extraordinary lengths to remedy this dreadful encounter. I've witnessed a masterclass in customer service on both sides of the ethical spectrum. TechnoPro, you've lost a customer for life. My final bit of advice -- use it, or don't -- if you want to buy online in SA stick with reputable vendors.
