Below is an e-mail I sent with my concerns about Dr Mjoli’s rooms, Evening Elsie I’m really concerned about the service I am receiving from the consultation rooms at the hospital. I came in about two weeks ago to consult with Dr Landou as a follow up to a CT scan that he requested that I do he then asked me to consult with Dr Mjoli on the matter because it would require that they work together in operating. I did as requested and Dr Mjoli gave me a date for the operation ( 4th of June) and since then the authorization process was done . Yesterday I received a call from Dr Mjoli’s rooms and the reception there was asking me if authorization for Dr Landou was done ,at this point I was not sure what she was talking about because they are the ones responsible for codes and making sure that all codes are included before sending me to book for a bed. The lady at reception then called me again sayin she was in the process of booking me yet another consultation with Dr Landou for the next day at 12:00 (she was not asking if this was possible as it was already short notice ) she then said she would call to confirm this booking.I waited for the call and to this minute she has not gotten back to me. I then called Dr Landou’s office to trace if this booking was made and to my surprise there was no booking under my name. I then booked for Friday morning because at the point I was not sure what the story was with the operation being half authorized. This is rather frustrating because in Jan I was in hospital and had an emergency c-section and now I have to undergo yet another operation and for some reason things are only half done . I just called in reception and they are confirming that the op is booked under Mjoli alone. Now I have to make means to leave Joburg ,come all the way , pay consultation yet again so that we can go through the completion of authorization documentation all over again. This is something that should have been done initially and now there’s a possibility of doing half the op in the event that Dr Landou is not available for the date selected. I am not sure how this will be resolved but I AM greatly disappointed to say the least. Please follow up on this matter ASAP and keep me posted on how it will be resolved. I am NOT willing to under go two separate operations on different days and can’t even defer this to a later date and have to deal with yet another period of anxiety. Since then the doctor opted not go ahead with the planned operation- this is now 1 work day before the operation day. This was greatly disappointing because one expects people to be more professional in Lifecare hospitals however we get disappointed over and over again despite the money we paid at these institutions.
