Sunday the 9th of June 2019 has been my worst experience by far at the Boardwalk. Just after 4pm myself and my fiance went to the boardwalk walked around, went to the VIP lounge. Just before 7pm we went out and saw that our car was not in the parking lot. We then looked for about 15-20 mins until we called security. The security called management and control room whom said they need to look thoroughly before they check CCTV footage. Eventually management came down and when we questioned how our car was lost under their supervision I mean there is securities walking around in parking lot all the time, there is a security at the gate who is supposedly suppose to check if there is a key in the ignition. We were told by management that cars parked are by own risk and they cannot take responsibility. Police eventually came and we were told our car left the premises at 18h11 and we needed to wait for the footage to be given to detectives and then we will get a copy. This morning we met with the detective at The Boardwalk, management said according to their policies we cannot go to the control room only the detective. We were told by the detective and head of security at the boardwalk that Toyota corollas are the 1 of the top stolen cars in SA why did we not have extra things to secure our car like alarms ect. I then asked if they are blaming us that our car are stolen under their supervision? Detective came out telling us that our car was tinted so you cannot see anything and the security did sign the torch so it's tough luck these things happens to toyotas. We told them that our car was never tinted and we've got a picture how standard our car is. We then told the detective we do not accept this and we would like to see the footage, because their is no proof that the car they identified is actually ours. He then brought a picture taken from his phone on the footage but the windscreen and all the windows are pitch black, the security is standing by the window but this black window is rolled up so how can the security see if their was a key ? , secondly the boom was already opened and the car was over the line so dont u first check and then open boom how is the boom already opened and the check done there after? Now my question is what is the boardwalk hiding, who are they protecting ?. Why haven't we received one call or any communication from them apologizing for what happened whether it had been there fault or not it was at their premises? This sounds as if there was negligence from either the security company or the boardwalk but I feel someone needs to be held accountable for our missing car. My frustration is not only the loss of my car but the lack of assistance and empathy I received from both the law and the boardwalk. I was told I just need to understand because it was a Toyota these are high risk cars and it's tough luck for me. . Why cannot I not see the footage, after I was promised the night infront of the offices i will have footage of when my came in, who was riding me and when my car left the premises and who was riding behind then. #Boardwalkwhatareyouhiding?#
