Don’t bother trying to stay at this hotel. You need to open a cellphone contract in order to hang on long enough to speak to someone. Then they tell you that they are the only 5 star hotel in the area…in their dreams. 5 star clients hanging on like being in a waiting room to speak to someone at city power-don’t think so. Try the RADISSON down the road, superior quality and customer attention.

Sunday the 9th of June 2019 has been my worst experience by far at the Boardwalk. Just after 4pm myself and my fiance went to the boardwalk walked around, went to the VIP lounge. Just before 7pm we went out and saw that our car was not in the parking lot. We then looked for about 15-20 mins until we called security. The security called management and control room whom said they need to look thoroughly before they check CCTV footage. Eventually management came down and when we questioned how our car was lost under their supervision I mean there is securities walking around in parking lot all the time, there is a security at the gate who is supposedly suppose to check if there is a key in the ignition. We were told by management that cars parked are by own risk and they cannot take responsibility. Police eventually came and we were told our car left the premises at 18h11 and we needed to wait for the footage to be given to detectives and then we will get a copy. This morning we met with the detective at The Boardwalk, management said according to their policies we cannot go to the control room only the detective. We were told by the detective and head of security at the boardwalk that Toyota corollas are the 1 of the top stolen cars in SA why did we not have extra things to secure our car like alarms ect. I then asked if they are blaming us that our car are stolen under their supervision? Detective came out telling us that our car was tinted so you cannot see anything and the security did sign the torch so it's tough luck these things happens to toyotas. We told them that our car was never tinted and we've got a picture how standard our car is. We then told the detective we do not accept this and we would like to see the footage, because their is no proof that the car they identified is actually ours. He then brought a picture taken from his phone on the footage but the windscreen and all the windows are pitch black, the security is standing by the window but this black window is rolled up so how can the security see if their was a key ? , secondly the boom was already opened and the car was over the line so dont u first check and then open boom how is the boom already opened and the check done there after? Now my question is what is the boardwalk hiding, who are they protecting ?. Why haven't we received one call or any communication from them apologizing for what happened whether it had been there fault or not it was at their premises? This sounds as if there was negligence from either the security company or the boardwalk but I feel someone needs to be held accountable for our missing car. My frustration is not only the loss of my car but the lack of assistance and empathy I received from both the law and the boardwalk. I was told I just need to understand because it was a Toyota these are high risk cars and it's tough luck for me. . Why cannot I not see the footage, after I was promised the night infront of the offices i will have footage of when my came in, who was riding me and when my car left the premises and who was riding behind then. #Boardwalkwhatareyouhiding?#

got a sms from the Boardwalk Casino in PE to say if I play R 800 they give me R 400 in X-Tra play that is loaded to my card. I went and when it came to getting my R 400 a screen came up showing it and then it never added. Went to the MVG Desk and they said their is a problem and they are busy sorting it out but they have no idea how lon it will take.

This happened to everyone around me, not just me

I arrived there just after 9 in the morning and eventually after drawing more money, waiting for the promotion to kick in I left just before 4 in the afternoon

At that time I went back to MVG Desk and they still had no answers for me, I was not prepared to draw more money to play so I left

I also asked the MVG Desk if they can't load the R 400 to my card manually and they said No as when the problem is fixed it will load and then I will get it double

So from 9am to 4pm the problem was not fixed yet and I played my money on the promise they were going to give me money to play with

A very clever move on their side, I must say. So everyone came to play their own money and no-one got rewarded (Or at least not the one's that had to leave, like me)

I would like to know if the Casino is going to refund me my money played on their dead machines, as it is them that invited me for this offer, which I never got (If anything I want my R 800 back that I was told to play) and not in playtime in cash.... I am done with the Casino, this is fraud that they committed and I really wish I can get a Newspaper to write about this

It was last year while my friends and I decided to take a vacation and we all decided to meet in Port Elizabeth. We visited a lot of places and did a lot of activities.

I'm currently based in Cape Town and being in the Eastern cape felt so good. We had so much fun until we visited The Lighthouses. I remember Rudby was playing that day and we wanted to watch the game and have drinks. South Africa won that day so it was just an amazing evening.

Because obviously we not from Port Elizabeth we asked people where we could watch them game and they recommend The Lighthouse to us. We had a bottle of Jameson so we decided to bring it with. We watched the match and then we started to drink. It was the day before I was meant to travel back to Cape Town. I bought ciders from the bar worth R500 and dash for the bottle.

We went to go find a place to sit. Most people had left because the match was over. We sat a big table with couches. It was comfortable and we were happy. I had a black cap on so I saw this white guy sending this black guy with dreads to come to me. So then the guy tells me to take my cap off because no caps are allowed after 7pm. Then I told him oh that's fine I didn't know because I'm not from here. Then we had a conversation about the game. 5 mins later the white guy comes to us and takes the bottle of Jameson. He literally doesn't say a word and simply just takes it. 5 mins later again he comes back and tells us to leave. So we sitting there shocked thinking his joking but we then realised he wasn't joking. We apologise ad tell him we didn't know you can't come in with alcohol and that we not from here. We hadn't even drank the ciders we bought and we were being chased away. We asked to leave with the alcohol and jewellery refused and took the alcohol then we asked him to then refund us our money and he refused. We were so confused with the type of treatment we got. It's like he didn't want us that. Now we all getting angry because everything was just confusing. At least give us a refund for the alcohol we bought it mean it was worth R500. You took our bottle plus our alcohol what nonsense is this. Surely this is not how you treat people that visit your place. And why only come after 5 mins without even communicating with us and none of us had even drank the bottle because we had no glasses. We begged and we got nothing.

I lost R500 that day and I believe I was treated unfairly and will definitely never go there ever In my life and sometimes you wonder if it's not because of the colour of your skin

We had a few parcels that my boyfriend and I handed in at the security desk in the casino and received a ticket for our parcels. We spent about 30 mins inside the casino. As we about to leave my boyfriend and i made our way to the security desk, where i gave the security the ticket in return for our parcels. We did not receive everything. There was one packet missing. We asked the security "Mila" where the other parcel is, he claims that our friends fetched it on our behalf. My argument is this, how could the friends that Mila claimed fetched the other parcel be given anything without producing a ticket to him. In other words I could have left my bag at the security desk and they would just give it to anyone that claims he/she is my friend without a ticket? And to make matters worse he gives me an attitude. This is really pathetic and very unprofessional that from a security company. I demand that the manager of the boardwalk resolves this issue and give me feedback ASAP as to how they will reimburse me for the missing parcel or i will take this matter further. Cause this is unacceptable and that from a well know entertainment and tourist attraction place. If you could please call me on my cellphone regarding this matter before the end of the day, I will appreciate it. On Sunday last week, my husband and self decided to treat ourselves to the lunch Buffet.
What a disappointment and waste of money. Besides it only opening at 1-00pm with
a que forming, we waited for nearly 30min for a glass of wine and a beer.,
I do understand there is a strike on - but service?
The food was terrible, only a few salads were nice, the stews awful, and worst, the roasts
of only chicken and pork were so dried out. The dessert looked nice but we decided to leave so did
not try anything.
