I was referred to Webber Wentzel Attorneys by a COVID-19 law firm who did pro-bono work during the lock down, Bowman's Law in Cape Town. My family and I were recommended to them as us being unemployed and due to the current state of our country (COVID-19 Level 4 Lock Down) where the owner wanted to evict due to an outstanding amount of R200 on our current month's rental. Attorney Moray Hathorn said it would be pro-bono, however 7 months later, today I received a bill from Moray Hathorn for R20 872.50. I have all the correspondence to confirm my story
Employed since 10 February 2019 as Sales Director with not even an office in place. Worked from home for nearly 3 and a half months. No tools given to establish business nor being able to supply clients with ink jet cartridges and toners, time delay from job to cpt also didn't assist in keeping or trying to expand business let a loan having no printer to print quotes, nor landline nor internet connectivity so yesterday as I want to gain access to business park my dear security friend tells me he has been instructed not to give me access. I contacted the MD Deon van Rensburg who said that it was something he just decided to put in place for weekends only. Deon then says he'd like a meeting with me at 13h00 bearing in he knows I'm getting married today the 19th June. He arrives and fired me with no reason and says he will only pay me for this week and that I must leave immediately. The humiliation and embarrassment ...
