bad service and no service from standard bank insurance limited
this is the worst worst company ever - we are not allowed to change to another insurance house as we still have a bond with standard bank - most of the suppliers they use is pathetic, and that is if they actually decide to help, note even the fact that you deserve to be helped as you pay your monthly subscription!!. they have decided after a hail storm that is is actually our own fault!! how the hell???

standard bank bluntly refuse to lower the insurance on our house - it is valued at R1.5 and only the original house of 64 years is on the municipal plans. they said that in a case of any accident standard bank only cover the buildings on the approved plans. But every time they send an assessor to measure all the buildings. even the jacuzzi for R50000. so the cover is for R5.4mil for an R1.5mil house - this is robbery

I only have an R500 000..00 bond . The municipality value is R850000.00. An agent from SEEFF Property's valued our house for R1.5milj. Standard bank insists to ensure it for R5144920.00. We tried everything - write numerous letters with no luck. The answer is always that they decide with their assessors what the value is and we have to pay the premie. Some of the building is not even on the plans and they told me that they do not cover that, but it is still part of the insured amount!. I feel that this is not fair
