Let me be clear, my problem is not with Seeff Properties directly, but rather with one of their employees (Annette Burd aka: Cornelia Annette Burd ). This woman is to be avoided at all costs, she is well known for her corrupt and fraudulent behaviour in JHB while working as the principle agent for Aragon Properties (aka: Kally Property). Annette Burd (Principle Agent of Aragon Properties aka Kally Property) is someone you want to avoid in JHB. She has to date held onto 3 x months rent from my tenant and is refusing to pay the monies to me the landlord. I have tried on numerous occasions to contact her over the past 3 years!! & reported her to the EAAB (www.eaab.org.za). She has resorted to blocking my mobile phone number, refusing to answer my emails , and once finally making contact with her, has made excuse after excuse saying that she'll pay the monies owed.........which never happens. I have never before experienced such incompetence, deceit and corruption from an organisation like Ominsure. Ominsure are an embarrassment to the Insurance industry they represent and I would advise anyone to look elsewhere for their insurance. In January 2020, I experienced significant storm damage to my home in JHB and followed up with an insurance claim and the corresponding documentation as requested by Ominsure. Ominsure then went out of their way to avoid answering my calls or replying to my emails when I followed up, constantly making excuses that they had not received my emails or had tried to call my mobile number with no answer. This went on for months with multiple individuals from Ominsure involved. This seems to be a common tactic of Ominsure’s if you read the other comments made by users on HelloPeter. To add further insult, the initial appointed ‘external’ assessor from XTND then made an assessment without contacting the Building contractor or physically inspecting the repairs. Ominsure, then took it upon themselves to remove key phrases from the Building contractors report mentioning the weather damage and claimed that it was because of bad design and maintenance and that they were rejecting my claim. Some would call this FRAUD. After complaining to Ominsure, and pointing out that they had not completed a fair and honest assessment, I was then appointed a second ‘in-house’ assessor. The second assessment went no better than the first, but at least this time they physically inspected the repairs, but once again they have ignored the Building contractors report and have still not contacted the Building contractor who can explain the repairs and costings. The excuse now, after 5 months, it that the damages are not covered by the policy and they are once again blaming bad design and maintenance and are only willing to pay R3000 out of a R118 000 claim. Avoid OMinsure at all costs!
