I found the parts (cv-joints) supplied by Driveshaft Centre Bellville to be sub-standard and the workshop manager to be both dishonest and poorly trained in customer relations. I fitted 4 x cv-joints in July 2020 at a cost of R8000 and by July 2022 the righthandside cv-joints had failed. At first they didn't want to honor the warranty on the parts and only replaced it after I threatened to go to the media and to sue them. The cv-joints fitted on the righthand-side on the 2-year warranty only lasted 7-months. Now I ask myself how can their parts last just as long as a R500 Midas or Goldwagen part and they claim to fit "quality" parts? I might as well go back to buying Midas and Goldwagen parts and be ready to buy parts every 6 months. I would also first have my head read by a psychologist before buying into this franchise or recommending them to anybody because they're a no-good company.
I bought 3 new engine mountings for my polo 1.9tdi at Goldwagen Paarl for R2500, but it failed in 3 weeks then the engine vibrations was back. After calling them and having the parts removed at my cost and the inconvenience of being without my car for a month they come back with a report from Johannesburg claiming that only one part failed and only refunding me for the one part. Back at the mechanical workshop the mechanics fits the parts and confirms that the other two parts is in fact also finished. After spending about R5000(parts plus labour) I'm still sitting with a car that feels unsafe to drive because of the excessive engine vibration. And all the customer services guy says is "our quality control people did the requested tests and says the parts are fine". Really wanted to give it to him but I rather kept quiet.
