we asked that my ****her in law get sent to step down facility after back surgery and the wonderful service we had received when my mother in law went in after her stroke. well to be honest my father in law received no service. he was admitted at 11:30 when my wife arrived to visit at 18:00 he was in terrible pain, he was not asked whether he needed anything at all in that time. he had another patient help with giving him a pillow and was only given water in the late afternoon. on hearsay a visitor of another patient told us when we collected him yesterday he had told them he could see my father in law was in pain and they still did nothing. he was told to shower yesterday morning but was not able to do so as the shower was as he says on the floor. the nursing staff at after 21:00 where still talking and shouting across the ward which made it impossible for patients to sleep, though the facility has sign all over to the effect "silence this is hospital" . we took him out of the facility as the trust had been broken and my fear he would be victimized if we left him there as requested. we had 3 different staff members approach us to please reconsider and let him stay so getting him discharged took over an hour and meant we had to face the traffic and cold. my wife and I where asked to sign a "refusal of Treatment" which we refused as he was put in the facility for treatment and none was forthcoming. the was consulted twice by the Physiothe****** in the ward then taken down to the treatment area to again be asked the same question and told they would schedule a session for the next day. we have committed to put all the detail on mail and send to the 3 staff members who tried to convince us not to discharge him. which will be done.
i went is on saturday to purchase a number of items. a number of floor assistance asked if they could help which to all i gave the same reply thanks i am looking as i wanted to look around while shopping, but they still sneak around after you as though i am a criminal. Managements response was disgusting and he show no respect or courtesy to the wishes of the customer.
