Jacob went above and beyond to ensure I get the car I wanted. Thank you Jacob!
I went to WeBuyCars to look at a specific vehicle. The vehicle itself was in excellent condition, albeit in an impractical colour. The salesman offered that we take it on a test drive, but that I need to complete the website online finance application form if I want to test drive the car. I expressed my hesitation, but he said that they can check my affordabillity and then only later in the afternoon I can decide whether I want to buy or not. During the test drive it transpired that the advertised price is not the actual price as you are obliged by WeBuyCars to take out a warranty on the vehicle as they do not want to be liable if they sell you a lemon. It also transpired that their "on road" cost is an additional R 6000 on top of the mandatory warranty. The test drive was completed and I was constantly being pushed to buy the car. Finance was approved but I had already by that time decided I am not comfortable with the pressure being app**** and have decided to rather do a bit more research and shop around. I the had to endure a phone call from the salesman trying to guilt trip me into buying the car because of the test drive and the application process the HE pushed on me. I re-iterated why I had my reservations and then was told that if I do not buy the car within 7 days, that I will not be able to apply for finance again as I will then have a bad credit score. I told the salesman to go fly a kite... SO: - I had to apply for finance before I could test the car. - I would have had to pay extra to absolve WeBuyCars from their legal obligation under the Consumer Protection Act. - I get *********ed with a "bad" mark on my credit score because I refuse to enter into an agreement that I am being pressured into by the salesman. People should be made aware of the tactics employed by this organisation.
I purchased radios with headsets online through Sell-SA (more specifically Gadget Boss on Sell-SA's platform) The order was processed quicklyand I received contact details for Gadget Boss which I used to confirm my order with them. The delivery was quick but was missing the headsets. I contacted them and they immediately confimred that they will swop out my order for the correct goods as advertised. I am very satisfied with both Sell-SA and Gadget Boss and highly recommend both!
Before I tried out PC Link Computers, I checked them out on Hello Peter and noticed they had mixed reviews. I decided to take a change on a low-priced item. I placed the order and got my transaction notification. I tried phoning them but they are impossible to get hold of telephonically. They do however respond on e-mail queries. It turend out they did not have the product as advertised and offered a similar (but inferior) product. I opted not to take that item. They then wanted to provide me with store credit but I insisted on a refund and can report that my money was returned to my account without any hassles. Though I think they can improve on some aspects, I can at least report that they are a legitimate online store.
This is some long-term feedback on work done by Bert for me. I had a Ford iKon 1.6 with a blown headgasket. Bert overhauled that engine for me. I also have a Nissan hardbody whose engine i had overhauled through a different mechanic and I can confirm that Bert’s work was of a much higher standard. I have sold the iKon to a work colleague and have kept tabs on the car. 4 Years on and that car’s engine is faultless and my colleague is still very happy with the car. I still have the Nissan and its engine was never the same and is in dire need of another overhaul. I will be using Bert this time to do the job properly.
