I write this review in pure disgust. There is a so- called company trading as powerfix civils who reports they do all kinds of tiling and plumbing including pools. The two individuals who I have dealt with are Ismail Sait (from Bonteheuwel, Athlone) and Chantel Flandorp (https://www.facebook.com/chantel.flandorp and https://www.facebook.com/chantel.flandorp1) They claim their project manager is Oscar Flandorp who they report to. I hired them from an unverified source and paid a deposit of R10 000 for stripping of a bathroom and total renovations. The stripping alone took over a week and well into the end of the second week it was evident Ismail Sait and company had no idea what they were doing. Their work was of poor quality and standard. The tiles (expensive porcelain tiles) were chipped and cracked and placed crookedly. There is more than R5 000 worth of damaged property owing. There were “piping problems” according to them that was delaying the completion of the project. On request to check for any leaks, the entire bathroom flooded from numerous leaks. I subsequently fired them and got another company to assist me. On re-stripping the bathroom the following was noted: No waterproofing done Shower floor was uneven and had no fall Old broken tubing placed as pipes (picture attached) All tiles were cracked or chipped - used a grinder to cut Shower glass was cracked New toilet was cracked I had to restrip, re-buy tiles and replace sanitary ware. They have vandalised and damaged my property and I will ensure I get my money back including additional compensation for what I had to replace. Please be aware of these people and this so called company. They are not qualified and unable to complete any job.
The agency itself, was prompt with replies and deadlines initially. Unfortunately I was liaising with the intern agents who are probably still in training however, they pitched up half an hour late for a viewing. Which I accepted an apology once we got to the viewing. The intern agent was slow with responding to messages and calls. Her colleague who she worked with was Lesley Broadbent, was extremely rude on calls. I was upset by her behavior, as I've worked with many estate agents and have never met such an unprofessional agent. I eventually had to liaise with the manager (who was friendly and efficient) I was trying to sort out a query for the past 3 days with the intern agents. It was sorted out in a 15 minute phone call with the manager. The intern agents will bring the companies ratings down. Its advisable to also check out the companies Google reviews.
