I complained about this company before and they said my complaint about them is not true. I cancelled my dealings with them a few months ago. So you can imagine my surprise when I found a transaction from them in my bank account without my authorisation. It came up as card payment so I had to block my card. Capitec: Purchase -R100.00 from SAVINGS ACCOUNT; Ref V RENTALS UN ZA; Avail R78.49; 31-Jul. Info 0860102043 Capitec: Your card payment of R10000.00 exceeded your limit and was declined. Good Afternoon My report is not false. I have had a contract a rent to own car with Vrentals since 26/11/2019. I leased a Toyota Avanza for R10500 a month with the agreement that if all went according to plan I would be given an option to buy the car after 4 years should I wish to. Every 3 months the car is supposed to go for an inspection at their offices. At the first inspection the car was supposedly damaged to the amount of R43000, mainly scratches n dents. They do not allow you to take it to an independent mechanic if you don't have your own insurance. This is all covered in their contract. So I made a payment arrangement. What I did not know is that they would take the car and I would have to leave it in their possession until payment made. The agreement was to pay R10000 in March and R15000 monthly until the money for damages was fully paid up. The last payment was going to be R7000. That very same week , the lockdown was announced by our president. I then called Vrentals and asked if I could pay the R7000 instead of the R10000 because of the uncer*****y of what was to come then. This was all agreed upon. On the 25/03/2020, R10500( instalment) and (R7000) damages were paid to Vrentals and they gave me back the car. During lockdown I continued to pay the R10500 installment but did not make any payments towards damages knowing that after lockdown or when motor industry opens I would make new arrangements. There were no further damages to the vehicle during this period. When we moved to lockdown level 3 I received a call from Zaheer/ Zakeer from Vrentals alleging that I had not made any payments towards damages and therefore they want the car back. I told him that I had made a payment of R7000 which he said he could not find, then he asked me to come in to see him so we could talk "face to face" for a new arrangement. We made an appointment for Saturday 30/05/2020. I was ushered into an overcrowded office, the staff was over 6 Muslim guyz NOT WEARING MASKS!! If the company is disputing overcrowding and not sticking to the social distancing rules then I am sure there are cameras and lots of other people who use that building who can testify to what I am saying. Zaheer/Zakeer was not there, hence I was seen by a Thabo. He told me I should pay R15000 there and then. Car must be parked, they were taking it until I pay. I agreed to make the payment and told Thabo, but asked if due to these current difficult times, I can be given a chance to sign a stop order for R5000 to be paid on top of my R10500 instalment until the damages charge is finished. The company refused. Hence I am saying they are heartless and thoughtless. I left their offices without the car, with them telling me they would only give me back the car after I had made the payment of R10500 and R15000, so all together, R25500 cash. I have been with these people for 6 months, had paid my installment in time, including a first payment of R42200 but still, I was committing myself to sign for an additional atop order of R5000, but still they refused. Even though I had paid them above R90000 in a space of 6 months, now if companies are alowed to be that greedy then that is all fine, but the reason I posted the review on your page is to let the public know. Furthermore to my ordeal, I have been calling the company to cancel my contract with them. When I called the company again on the 4th/ 5th/06/2020 I was then transfared onto the manager who said his name is Ammaar, I have never met him, because every time you complain in their offices, he never comes out but sends someone else. Ammaar said to me that he had been busy since the morning with police and department of labour because of my post. He told me that my milliage had been high, which indicated that we had been using the car for some kind of business during the lockdown. Yes we have been using the car during lockdown, to transport nurses to and from work, because there was no transport. No one had bothered to ask me this while I was at the offices or I would ave told them. And for transporting nurses we got paid minimally, enough money to keep my family of 7 afloat, not anything close to what we would normally make with bolt or indrive. On Friday the 05/06/2020 I again received a call from a guy from their accounts department, referring to my Hellopeter post , I refused to speak to him about that as I considered it as intimidation from the company's part. I told him he would need to put everything in writing if he wanted to talk to me. I realised that this company is used to crooking people and making them feel like they had wronged them even though you are paying them, they can just reposses a car like that. Most customers I've seen at their offices are black people and it is Indian people who run that business. I guess that is one of the reasons we have the black lives matter movement today, because of companies and people like that company who so selfish and cruel towards black people. I am surprised that you would dismiss my report on your site as false? Why would you do that? I use that car to take care of my elderly mother of 78 , my entire family including my 4 year old son. I have been paying for it diligently for 6 months, so of course I am very angry to have it taken away and be expected to still pay for it while it is not in my possession. I am a mother, a nurse and a well respected member in my community, I refuse to play victim to heartless monsters like this company, so this is my way of fighting back, only to get told its false. Lungi. I
Filthy dirty service. From racist, blood sucking Indians who epitomise the concept of thoughtlessness. No matter how much money you give these people it will never be enough. Believe me, I was paying R10500 monthly for an avanza, it was still not enough. They have no consideration for the hardships faced by all during lockdown, to them its all about the bottom line. Worse they don't wear masks and practise no social distancing in their offices. Its like south African laws don't apply to them. I will do my level best to report this company to the proper authorities and make sure they don't exploit our people any further.
