My MTN contract expired yesterday, i called the service center (135) to cancel however i received an auto response that the retention department does not work on weekends. Earlier in the month i calked to give an instruction to have my contract cancelled on the date of expiry however i was informed that i have to call on the day it expires rather. Today (11 October 2021), i called MTN retention department and after waiting on the call for a long period (30+ minutes) my call was not attended to. What i find odd is that Mtn still opts in customers into contract renewals, is this lawful? Secondly Mtn does not communicate that the contract is ending but does try entice you to upgrade (which i will never do given the extremely poor service i received from MTN). Someone please advise there must be a law against this and possibly an action i can take against this entity. Also when i call their general department the call gets answered immediately but as soon as i get transferred to retentions department noone answers the call. Unlike my request to be refunded money that was incorrectly charged to my account that you never attended to upto date (ENQUIRY REFERENCE NUMBER 3358028 - which possibly amounts to fraud), Mtn please attend to my cancellation request. I have also emailed your retention department (Enquiry Reference Number 5415481)
I was attended to by very professional and polite personnel at the clinic yesterday. A clinical visit that was nerve wrecking was turned into a great experience by the individuals below. Its amazing to see that such kind hearted personnel still exists in the public system that is flooded by mean individuals who do not have any interpersonal skills or a heart for people Keep up the good work Dr Lawrence Mlotshwa; Sandra Gumede, Thato and Zukiswa
Waited for more than an hour to be served while my infant child was crying at the Fourways mall branch and only four consultants were available to assist. To worsen matters the consultants were walking around slowly and chit- chatting and even giving preferential treatment to other clients who arent vulnerable. You have a big customer base however you need to relook the way you treat your customers
I was overcharged for a contract phone i took with Northgate MTN shop in December 2019 and up to date MTN wont refund me despite having proved that they indeed overcharged me on the billing and settlement value . I have gone into the store with my contract summary which proves that my account was tampered with after i departed and that resulted in an overcharge until i resorted to cancelling my contract. All efforts toget my money have proved fruitless despite MTN having acknowledged that they indeed overcharged me. Itumeleng the agent who assisted me when i purchased the phone promised tp have the issue resolved but up to date nothing has been done. I am very disappointed at MTN
MTN has the worst and very oppressive service i have ever experienced. Even after paying off the settlement fee for a phone that they blocked and continued to bill me for a fault they made on their end MTN still wont cancel my contract with them. I have even involved their complaints department where BRIAN TSHABALALA attended to me without any helpful resolution. The agent had since been quiet even after i sent them the email trail that shows that MTN is making it impossible for me to exit my contract and needs to fix my phone which they blocked while i.was out of the country and continued to pay for it. PLEASE HELP REFER ME TO EVEN LAWYERS OR A PROFESSIONAL BODY WITH JURISDICTION OVER MTN BECAUSE I AM EXHAUSTED FROM TRYING TO CANCEL THIS CONTRACT.
Sizakele Mchunu and Tshego from the retention department attended to my cancellation query finally. These two agents were very professional and helpful. Great service thats worth applauding, thank you. Tip for MTN: Consider using these two to teach some of your call center agents and instore agents customer care and courtesy. Its a pity my mind is made up and i am leaving MTN because not all agents at MTN are as professional as the agents in the retention department.
MTN wont cancel my cellphone contracts despite sending multiple emails over 2 months, can anyone please refer me to an organisation that can help with this matter. Despite having been paying for the contracts the sim cards have been blocked, i was never notified and i just noticed that on my arrival today from another country, this is unacceptable. How do i make a call to the service & retentions number without network access? I am frustrated out of my mind please help. I WANT NOTHING TO DO WITH MTN and i believe they should be held accountable for their actions because they are unfair.
I took a cellphone contract in December 2019 from MTN for R229 and yet they have been overcharging me every month since then. In December my bill reflected a higher amount than the preinvoiced amount which is the reflection of the contract i entered. I went instore at the Northgate Mtn Shop and the agent who assisted me when i took out the contract said the amount i will be billed is R229 and not R329. I asked that my contract be cancelled on 20 December 2019, MTN responded via an email and stated that a consultant from their cancellation department would call me back in 24-48 hours. I never received the call. In January i travelled and as a result i couldnt go into their shop to get this resolved nor call them. Despite having asked Mtn to cancel my contract to no avail i continued to pay via EFT while out of the country so that i do not ***** my credit record. To my surprise when i opened my statement in April 2020 it had an arreas balance because Mtn had been charging me R329 instead of the R229 per month that i have been faithfully paying. I asked them to investigate this matter on 20 April 2020 by reviewing the contract and the preinvoice that i signed instore, it took them more than a month to revert to me after sending endless emails. On 20 April i also sent customer retentions at mtn an email requesting to cancel my contracts with them and since then i.have not received a response. The response to the discrepancy in the amounts was sent via an email that had an attachment that was supposedly the signed contract however the attachment also didnt open. I sent Mtn an email stating that i cannot open the attachment however i have not received any communication from them. This is the worst service i have ever received from a service provider. So easy to get the contract but impossible to get out of it. I dont want these contracts anymore and need them cancelled with immediate effect however being out of the country makes it difficult to communicate with Mtn as i cannot call their customer care and can only email them. Despite the law stating that one cannot be forced to be party to a contract when they do not want to anymore it seems Mtn still uses other means such as non-responsiveness to force people to stay in contracts. What other remedies are available to hold them accountable and not be forced to stay in contracts when one doesnt want to anymore?
