I went in with inflammation in my colon, was unable to pass stool and was in pain. The useless doctor in Casualty trie’s insinuating that I had a bladder infection. I worked in health research for over a decade and explained that it’s not. She then said I had to go for a sonar. The rude Dr that did the sonar was focussing low-abdomen. The entire thing was missed. I eventually made an appointment with the specialist who said the scan they did in the first place was wrong. By the time I had a colonoscopy the situation rectified itself with just mild tenderness in the spot bcs I was given strong anti-inflammatory meds etc. That useless doctor at the casualty used my medical aid for nothing. I have never met such incompetence in my life. Not only is the radiation department tardy and rude, their admissions department works at snail-pace, their lancet is filthy and stinks, the food they serve is disgusting. The hospital rooms are cramped and the toilet is literally the size of the toilet with maybe 30cm gap on either side. They never have a private room available on request. It’s just a very poorly run hospital but have to go there due to its location to my residence and the Medical plan I have. Honestly, I have no confidence in the hospital itself. My daughter was under 18 and went for a kidney biopsy. I stayed with her but had to fight the night staff who insisted I leave as they put my daughter in the general ward and not paediatric. My daughter needed assistance going to the bathroom and she just needed her mom….im glad I fought my way to stay. The rude and entitled nurses are loud and it sounds like a stampede of water buffalo through the halls all night. It’s time garden city have some diversity in their nursing staff and then maybe they can be culturally aware of others. Loud talking and banging on things in a place of healing may be acceptable for some but not for others. I don’t know how Netcare has this hospital in its network as it’s run like a public hospital with rude public hospital nurses that think they are doing you a favour, except you paying private rates.
****MERS ***I paid 1300 on an online order for pet food on the 21st November 2023. Today is the 5th December 2023 and my order status online still indicates they are awaiting payment. The cell number they give goes straight to voicemail. SMSs gets ignored. Definitely a ****. Reporting it to Standard Bank ***** department
