I sent my car to Platinum Auto Repair Centre by the instruction of We Buy Cars when my car started making a noise after 2 months of purchase from We Buy Cars. Innovation Group only sent an assessor to verify the mechanics assessment a week later. The assessor only sent their report to Innovation Group a week after that. During this time I had to constantly phone the mechanic and Innovation Group to get an update which should be done on their own initiative. It should not take 2 weeks just for a claim to be approved for a 2 day job when a car is very important in people's every day lives. This is unacceptable.
When I bought my car, the sale process was quick and went smoothly. Everybody was super helpful and on the ball. Now that I have the car, the after service is poor. I took my car to we buy cars 2 months after purchasing it because I was told if I have any issues I should bring it to them if it's within 6 months of purchase, which I did due to a noise it was making. They referred me to their mechanic, Platinum Auto Repair Centre. My car has now been at the mechanic (who stripped it and has not worked on it) for 3 and a half weeks due to a slow claim process with WBC and Innovation Group (the warranty company that WBC makes you use when you purchase your vehicle on finance). I was told to log a complaint and I have still not been contacted 3 days later. I am highly unimpressed and their service is pathetic. It has been a major inconvenience not having a car for this long and who knows how much longer. I would definitely not recommend buying a car from WBC and certainly not taking it to them if there are any issues.
Yesterday, I went for a walk on umhlanga rocks' beach with my boyfriend. We had stopped to eat and leaned against the railing, while doing so. Soon after, our arms were burning as if we were getting stung and what was followed by an allergic reaction. We soon figured out this was all due to minute filings/shavings on the material used for the railing. This allergic reaction could have been way worse almost to the point of life threatening for those who usually handle allergic reactions very badly. Today I still have red, itchy bumps from the reaction on my arm. This discomfort was an unnecessary experience which should never have happened. I feel the municipality needs to approach this sort of public endangerment by addressing the issue and changing the material used, as well as acknowledging the affect it has had on our body.
