First of all, allow me to say that I am VERY disgruntled in the way we as the public gets treated the way we do by the Department by our own people. My wife needed to get her drivers license renewed but because her ID document had been stolen due a smash and grab incident, the rule was simple. Get temp ID, relevant documents and then traffic department to get sorted. Because we called in to HOME AFFAIRS to find out what time they open and close, they tell us that their system was offline, but we can however proceed to get an affidavit from SAPS with copy of ID and they would accept. We proceed to obtain this affidavit at 07:30 at the SEA POINT SAPS and made our way to Cape Town Traffic department in GREEN POINT (GALLOWS HILL). After waiting from 07:50 till 11:45, we get told that they cannot assist in the way we do as they would either need original ID or temp thereof. This was made clear and understood. Then we proceed to the nearest HOME AFFAIRS department to apply for a temporary ID document in order to apply for the temporary drivers license. As we get to the gate of the HOME AFFAIRS department at 12:35, we get told by security that due to "water not working" offices will be closed. We then asked to speak to a Supervisor or Manager to verify if this was correct. The wait was approximately 30 minutes when a gentleman dressed in Jeans, white T-shirt, Peak cap, Chains hanging loose around his neck and dark sunglasses that appeared to be VERY unprofessional for a GOVERNMENT OFFICIAL, we get told the same thing. We then get told that they work on a number basis and ONLY 100 people will be assisted in that respect. We understand that due to COVID-19, there are certain procedures put in place as per our President however, 1. How is it that we are instructed to do what is expected and then get turned away. 2. How do we deal with a GOVERNMENT DEPARTMENT that has no water and WE as the public has to suffer. 3. Systems aren't 100% guaranteed, understood but, why is there NOT a backup plan or strategy to help our people. 4. Government employed certain individuals to help and assist our people in all aspects whether it be a renewal of a driving license, unemployment, Issue of ID's and so forth. Why are we being treated like we are absolutely NOTHING, addressed by people that does not have the skills to find a simple solution to any problem but rather steer a situation off so that they don't have to deal with issues. I need answers please.
Ladies and gents, please be warned. This is obviously a major scam these people are busy with. I read my email stating that I was successful in my application for a position I applied for. When I read the response they sent, I immediately knew by the way the email was typed, that it could never be true. This "so called" PROFESSIONAL company, would NEVER send you such an unprofessional correspondence. Please warn EVERYONE you know looking for employment, to stay clear of this amateur syndicate, making money off the innocent and helpless.
