I used Peter’s Removals to help with my moving from my old house to the new house, which is in the same road. When booking with Peter’s their secretary asked to take my inventory list telephonically so they can know what size truck to bring on the day. My list was fairly large and I reconfirmed prior to the day of moving if I will be getting a truck. When my moving day came which was Sunday 2nd August 2020, they arrived 2 hours late, with that been said my booking was for 10am and they arrived at 12pm. The company did not call me on their own to inform me of the delay, I had to call them once I noticed it was past 10am and nobody has arrived. When the movers arrived at 12pm, only to be more disappointed as they arrived with a bakkie van and a trailer which was attached. When I asked where’s the truck, the man in charge seemed confused and stated “ our previous customer also said they were expecting a truck”. Due to the fact I had to move out of my previous house by the 2nd August, I just allowed the guys to move my stuff, so we could get it over with ASAP. So Peter’s Removals had charged me R3500 for a truck to move my load a few houses away and sent a bakkie and refuses to take any responsibility for overcharging me, misleading me and refuses to refund me atleast 30% back. After 3 trips and a couple damaged boxes later, I contacted the company to complain on the same Sunday 2nd August Afternoon , where they said their secretary will contact me on Monday and that never happened. Only for me to complete unpacking Monday morning and notice my jewelry was missing, and I last saw it the Sunday morning before the movers arrived at my old house . The company will not take responsibility for the jewelry because they make you sign a paper before they start moving your stuff, that they will not be responsible for a list of items. However I opened a case against their staff who helped move my stuff and had them arrested. Throughout this process, not once did the company give a call to show any compassion as their customer, even though I did not try to fight them against paying for my stolen jewelry. I have never experienced such unprofessionalism from any company before, they don’t respect or value their customers and when I called them on Thursday 6th August they denied ever telling me I was getting a truck to remove my stuff.
