I have been scammed! The owner of a neighbouring property (Antoine Strydom from Sasolburg area) mentioned he was driving to Centurion to a reputable Solar store. I asked him for advice on a lithium battery, and he kindly offered to purchase (with my money) a 5kva inverter and 7.2kw lithium battery for my bedridden, 80+ year old father who relies on an oxygen machine and only has solar power. I received the invoice from Antoine (who had invoiced me): 19 February 2022, Mark, First-Solar, Dispatch Germiston, Cell 0814822575. Inv 322 and PO 22683. FNB Wizegroup (Pty) Ltd. A guarantee of 10 years on battery and 2 years on inverter. The inverter started smoking and leaking a fluid so I decided to take the goods for checking and cover under warranty. Only to discover that nothing seems to exist. The invoice amount was R27 999.00 - which my bedridden, SASSA pensioner, father had paid! If anyone knows any further information about this company or person, please let me know as I'd like to do the honourable thing on behalf of my father-and society. Not okay to scam anyone, let alone an 80year old person reliant on solar for oxygen. Are these stolen goods? The battery has been resprayed black, was red and now the paint is showing. No serial number. It is supposed to be 48v yet the volts measure 20V.... How does one tell an elderly person they've stolen from them, really sad.

I was a customer with 1st for Women 13 years. Never missed a monthly premium and only had 2 relatively small claims. I had a cashback on my policy which was payable in September 2020 of approximately R30 000. Suddenly the date moved to 2023. When I enquired they said it is because I made a claim. It turned out the claim was for a windscreen chip repair. Firstly, I one would not think a chip repair would forfeit the bonus and secondly, I could've left the chip and rather replaced the windscreen which would've been expensive (Mercedes AMG). I cancelled the policy and wonder how many excuses they have for their cashback policy. I always received great service from them but from lockdown forward their service too is extremely poor.
Ordered product,, only for them to confirm they have no stock. Surely they should be aware of whether they have stock! A situation where they run their business off customer’s money. Why not post on the site - OUT OF STOCK?
I had direct family, from Cape Town, visit me in the Vaal. They commented on how rude the Woolworths' staff are towards customers (in comparison to the CT staff). Today I experienced, perhaps not the rudeness, the total disregard of customer service. Firstly, I entered the Vaal Mall Woolworths around noon. There were no shopping baskets available. I noticed there were only about 12 customers (max) in the food section - the baskets were all lying at the till points. I needed to buy basics like bread, milk and heated pie (quick lunch for my son). I choose WW because the service is efficient and the staff are friendly - not because they have the best milk and bread in town! Well at the deli counter, Lebogang Molejane (I have her staff number too) decided to unpack all the roast chickens from the ovens while half the store's customers had to stand by and wait. I made a point of telling her that we are on our lunch breaks and would like to be served; her response was that she can't serve anyone because the chickens need to be unpacked first. All the customers, except 1, wanted something other than a chicken. She didn't apologise for the delay except gave me her details and said, "Do what you want." The staff at the till are always friendly but my point is that many customers shop at Woolworths because of service and quality but it seems as though that is no longer the case in the Vaal! Poor service. (The store was not busy - I walked straight through the the till so there is no excuse.)
