An update on my last review. Different Life honored their policy and paid me out eventually. It was a long, stressful process
This is Janet, I'm using my late husband's login details. He passed away from a brain tumor on the 19th March 2025. I'm still trying to get his life insurance policy paid out! Excuses after excuses, lies after lies. They are trying to use dr's consultations diagnosing insomnia, anxiety, depression and ADHD to say that they would never have sold him the policy had they knows about these conditions. I have listened to recordings he has disclosed everything. He has reports from the dr's involved to say that nothing that he ever saw them for is in anyway linked to his cause of death. I don't know what to do now but Different Life, I will do something because you will not get away with this!!!
My husband had a life insurance policy with Different Life. We were married for 24 years and dated for 2 years before that. He was never sick other than the odd cold and work stress. He was hospitalized on 27 May 2024 and diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor on 22 July 2024 and passed away on the 19th March 2025. I reported the claim to Different Life and sent the last of the supporting documents to them on 14 April 2025. I checked with the agent helping me whether she needed anything more from me. She assured me that they had all the information that they needed. I kept phoning every few days for updates. I was told that the claim was approved and that the money would be in my account by the latest 26 May 2025. I can't get hold of her anymore, she doesn't answer or return calls (they have claimant's numbers saved so they can see who is calling). Her manager has taken my claim over. They can only find the voice recordings that are convenient for them. They say that they have found an entry on a GP's report stating that my husband visited her with a complaint of insomnia which he never disclosed. I asked for the sales voice recording. He said on the recording that he took Cipramil (an anti-depressant). They say that they asked for the condition not the medication. The calls are recorded but they "can't" find the call in which I was told that my claim was approved and gave 26th May 2025 as the payout date. The recording didn't sound complete, on investigation I found that there were 4 calls, not 1. They sent me the 2nd recording. The 1st recording revealed that the policy was sold to my husband in 2018. There was a payment default in 2019 and they phoned him to tell him that his policy had expired and sold him a new one. In the 2018 recording my husband states that he takes medication for work related stress. They say that the 2018 recording has no bearing on the claim as the claim is against the policy bought in 2019 even though it is the same person with the same medical history. Had there not been a payment issue in 2019, the 2018 policy would still have been in place at the time of his death. Then they would have found another reason to not pay. I have not had the luxury of grieving my husband's death. My time and thoughts are taken up with fighting to get the money for the policy that my husband took out to protect the children & I in event of his death.

Vodacom has this daily shake to win prizes. You win a free online course at Shaw Academy. What a joke anybody can just log on to the Shaws site and get a free course. Then to get your free course you have to supply your credit card details or you can't do the trial course. So it is not a free course. does Vodacom think we have an IQ of ten.
I had a problem with a Investo Policy last year that came to a end number of years ago. I had to jump through a lot of hoops, and after threatening to issue a claim through the small claims court against their CEO Hillie Meyer did they pay. This year I moved form Momentum to Discovery and was told I would get my savings account paid out in four and a half months. Then, on contacting them it is a different story every time we call to follow up. I am again in the process to go through the small claims court to demand payment form Hilie Meyer and then issue a summons against him as the CEO so he can come to the court, and not being able to send someone else or have an attorney, explain to the court why they, for the second time they struggle to pay. It is utterly frustrating to deal with Momentum in any way or form. Horrible company!!!!!!!!
I purchased a recovered 2015 2.2 Ford Ranger double Cab in June 2015 from Motorvia and they explained to me that the vehicle comes with a service plan and warranty form Ford mtor company South Africa. On taking the vehicle to McCarthy's Ford Menlyn I was told that the vehicle did not have a motor plan and was not covered by a warranty. One on the rears shock absorbers was totally loose after the pre delivery inspection by McCarthys Ford Menlyn and the other is leaking and needs to be replaced. AQfter being sent from pillar to post and numerous phone calls and emails to Motorvia and Ford Motor Company I am stuck with the vehicle. Ford and Motorvia's word means nothing and McCarthy's Ford Menlyn' service is pathetic. Rather pay more and get a proper vehicle with Toyota
