On 21 September 2020 I wrote a review regarding cancelling my Vodacom contract. On 22 September 2020 a consultant contacted me and finalised the cancellation. I moved over to prepaid on 1 October 2020 and converted to another network, where I am very happy. Today I logged onto my banking app and saw that my credit status are compromised, I went in and saw that I am handed over to the credit buro for missing my Vodacom payment of November 2020. Very confused I phoned Vodacom customer care, where the consultant informed me that I owe Vodacom R0.20 , that is right, twenty cents, 20 cents! So for 20 cents Vodacom reported me to the Credit Buro, where I have never ever had any default against my name! This, while Vodacom had a standing debit order on my bank account for the 10 years plus that I was a client with them. Why did they not deduct the 20 cents from my account per debit order. I know this year has been tough, but I really do have 20 cents in my bank account! The call centre agent apparently logged a call to inform the billing department to run the debit order for 20 cents, and informed me that I will receive a SMS to confirm this. I did not receive an SMS, and probably because I do not have an Active Vodacom number any more. So, how log do I now have to wait for Vodacom to deduct the 20 cents and clear my credit record? I am so unbelievably upset that 20 cents is causing me to have a bad credit buro record!
I am mad at myself for not doing proper checks, and I did fall for this scammer called Kevin from Property assist. He finds you as a private propery seller on Private Properties...he then promise to list your ptoperty on 5 other sites and to bump them up every two days for 12 months. It was time consumimg enough to load the property on one platform, so for R850 it should be worth it. So he sends you a "mock up" which is acrually a free IOL listing he does to show you what he does...after you pay nothing els happens and your correspndence is Ignorred. This is defenately a scammer at work!
I have been a loyal Vodacom contract customer for the past 12 years. I decided that the current uncertain times calls for greater flexability and my bank offers a month-to-month post pay contract for a 3rd of the price I pay at Vodacom on a 24 month contract with the same benefits. My contract expired in June 2020 so I can cancel it anytime "without hassel" or so I thought. The issue I have is that Vodacom makes it so difficult to cancel your contract. These days you can do anything with the click of a button, but do not think for one moment it is that easy to cancel your Vodacom contract. You can't do it online, on the app or even in store...no the only way is to call their cancelation phone number, which is actually their client retention centre. There you will find firewalls the likes of ford knox. You will talk to the consultant and they will try all tactics to keep you as a client. Putting you on hold to do "deal matches" for 10 minutes at a time, this went on for almost an hour(probably hoping you would give up and end the call), just to later tell you the regional manager will approve a month-to-month contract with unlimited talk time and 1 gb data @R399 and they will phone you two days later to confirm...what a lot of bull that is. Its been two weeks and no call back, except from three upgrade consultants, wanting to lock you in for 24 months again. I also found an email addres online and emailed my Cancelation request there...but to no avail. I considered, that should the bank contract not work for me, or should I ever feel I need better connectivity, I would move back to Vodacom...but with this hassel, I would rather be without a phone contract than ever signing with Vodacom again. I just want to convert my contract to prepaid in order to port. Please make it happen!
