I was extremely disappointed at the service I received from Brug Pharmacy. The pharmacist had to tear himself away from his cell phone to assist. He was very unfriendly and although he sort of assisted, he did so grudgingly. The shop assistant equally so. Maybe it had been a long day and it was close to closing time but that shouldn't justify the reason for bad service. Our family has supported Brug Pharmacy for more that 50 years from when they were first established in Paul Kruger Street in Capital Park, to where they are now in Rietfontein. I will not be renewing my script at this pharmacy and will take my business elsewhere.
Just wanted to share that Amazon South Africa is top-notch. The next day free delivery is great and returns, if any, are handled efficiently. When Amazon launched in SA, their catalogue was small and rather disappointing, but has grown exponentially and I will always rather order from this company, than their competition! I expect that free delivery will not continue forever, but we'll see.
While shopping yesterday, came across tinned tomatoes priced at R12,99 on the shelf so yay, loaded 12 tins into my trolley. At the checkout counter I saw that the tins were registering as R25,99, upon which I queried the price. The packer was sent to confirm the price, and after returning to the counter, the cashier tried to correct the price at the till, but couldn't get the transaction right so she called the Supervisor. The Supervisor also wanted to confirm the price on the shelf and upon her return and "yara-yaraing" in her African language with her colleagues, asked me to accompany her to the shelf to confirm that the price was actually R25,99. The price was now higher and had been changed leaving me to query if I was off my head as I had definitely seen the lower price otherwise I would not have packed in 12 items. I apologised for being incorrect, subsequently left the 12 tins but upon reflection, realised what had transpired. The packer must have confirmed that the price was R12,99, otherwise the cashier would not have tried to correct the transaction. The supervisor had obviously changed the price and made me to feel that I was in the wrong. SHAME ON YOU SPAR for your dishonest dealings with your customers! Next time, just be honest, say that a mistake had been made in the pricing, but don't make me out to be in the wrong!
On 24 September I purchased cake from the Queenswood Spar where the quality was absolutely awful. The lemon meringue had no lemon flavouring, the quiche was a stodgy mess with the pepper pot that had been lost in it, and the banana loaf was extremely dry pointing to a lack of banana. I was extremely disappointed at the poor quality of these bakes as this branch of Spar is usually quite reliable. Lesson learned, I shall not purchase cake there again.
For lack of so few tea gardens in Pretoria, I found myself back at the Green Olive tea garden after having bad experiences in the past but hoped that there had been some improvement. Unfortunately, that was not to be the case. The service has deteriorated terribly. Previous times we waited for our food for an extremely long time, but this last time, it was over an hour before we were served our food. My daughter also found the plastic top from the container of the 1000 island salad dressing in her salad. To crown it all, after such poor service, we were charged a compulsory service fee for what I deem to be extraordinarily poor service. I have no qualms in tipping well for good service, but in this case I was forced to pay the service fee when I would rather have not. I have vowed that the Green Olive will never smell me again and I will gladly spread the word of their poor service!!!
