Hogshead Douglasdale

I stopped in at Hogshead Douglasdale for a beer while I waited for some friends. First there is no Castle Draught, which I can live with, so I ordered a Castle Lite Draught which was warm when it eventually came. I ordered another one whilst I was still waiting and I noticed that the pub accross the road seemed to be enjoying a lot more support than where I was, so I decided to change the venue and advised my friends. I asked for the bill, and much to my shock and surprise they charge R43.00 for a warm Castle Lite draught!!!!!!! I understand that Covid has had an effect on the entertainment industry, however I do not expect the customer to be taken advantage of so blatantly!!! Now I know why the venue accross the road is so much busier, because they are encouraging repeat business, which clearly Hogshead does not need to do. We will enjoy the rest of the evening at Gathering of the Clans!!!
