The extra money this company is costing us is atrocious. They were meant to demolish a jacuzzi, do fibreglass and mosaic, which costed us a fortune already. Not only did they leave with our money, claiming bankruptcy but also left us with unmeasurable damage to our pool. Since they are receiving recent reviews, I am assuming that they are back in business but simply refuse to come and clean up the mess which they have created (we’ve been trying to contact them with no response). They admitted using our money for other projects, which is wrong on so many levels. The work was done sloppy - steps are skew, mosaic is falling off the sides and pipes are sticking out. They’ve closed a suction point at the pool centre because “it is old school and not working” after we told them countless times that it is the suction point for the 6 fountain spews (which was working just fine before). Now these are also not working. They tried to make “another plan” but now we have an extra hole in the side of our pool above the step, as a proposed “suction point” which is not only useless but also extremely dangerous as hair and small children’s body parts can easily get stuck in there. If you still decide to use them after this review, here’s some advise - have your electrician on standby (they mess up the wiring), have your plumber on standby (as they have MANY joints with no glue, causing leaks), have your builder do the paving around the pool and have your tiler do the mosaic. If you have these things in place and willing to lose a bag full of money, you’ll be fine using Northside Pool Services.
In the middle of level 5 lockdown, they came out quickly and sorted a severe rat problem for us. They knew exactly where to put the traps with poison and it was safe around pets and small children. Within a few days the rats were gone. Their after sale service is also great and they checked up regularly to find out if we need a top up or if we feel that something isn’t working.
Our pool’s construction started on 24 Aug 2020 and 5 months later we still don’t have a finished pool. We have paid about 90% of the total cost (as per contract) but now the job is just not being completed. Apart from that, the workmanship is poor and we had to get mosaic and some of the construction work redone. Peter is hard to get hold of when there is a complaint and hardly ever comes to the site. His workers are mostly slothful and compared to any of the other construction companies we’ve used for this major renovation project, hardly putting in the hours of work on the days they do pitch. They also had to borrow from our building material and have not replaced this as promised weeks ago. They are always short of something, building material, grout etc. We are very disappointed and now, having to finish the job with a new company, we’re losing out on a warranty (as no new company will warranty the construction work which have been done) and will also pay about R30k more that what we would’ve to finish the job.
Rochester Stoneridge absolutely useless. First the Pta branch tells me Stoneridge has stock. I get to stoneridge, they tell me that they are only a showroom and we need to pay R695 delivery (for 11km), which they later changed to R495. Or we can collect the furniture piece at the warehouse at Jetpark. My husband agreed to drive there for collection to save the money. He got there and waited for 2 hours and then had to leave. I phoned them and asked about this and they said that “this is how it works and the driver will do a delivery for R695”. We refused to pay the delivery fee as they already wasted so much of our time and petrol money and their solutions were no real solutions at all. They offered a refund so I can go and purchase at another store, only to tell me a refund will take 14 working days! All this time, I found out, I was dealing with a junior (who had to ask her senior for everything). The “senior” then said I can have the SCRATCHED furniture on the floor (this after I paid full price and they said they can’t sell me furniture off the floor or give me discount because the piece is scratched). A day later we get a phone call that it is sorted and the delivery will he made (I wanted to have this before Christmas)...nothing came. When I followed up today, they said they are waiting for us to pay the delivery fee! I already logged a complaint last week and nothing has been done about it. I am beyond livid.
