I went to Postnet in Eldoraigne Village to post some of my belongings to Cape Town. It was mostly clothes and some kitchen items. Soon after packing I was told that my shipment would cost R800. I politely asked what attributed to this cost as my package was expensive. The lady explained and I understood that they calculate the weight based on the volumetric weight. Fine, however I was very uncomfortable with price and decided to cancel the shipment a couple of minutes later. I knew that I would have to pay for the box as that cannot be reused. Once again I proceeded calmly and politely, letting the lady know that it was too expensive and that I would like a refund, taking into account that I would pay for the boxes. All of a sudden another lady named Gwen (or something similar) looses it and begins to shout across the shop in Afrikaans (I do not understand Afrikaans). Mind you though this whole ordeal I approached calmly, I was not aggressive or going there to insult or attack anyone. I understood that I would have to pay for the boxes etc. I had no problem waiting. However, I was quite startled when this "Gwen" began shouting- it would appear to me-, but in a language I didn't understand. If she was soooo bothered by something - mind you that this wouldn't have affected her as A. I packed my things myself and B, she wasn't the manager-, she should have said it to my face and in a language we BOTH understand (note, when I was paying she was friendly and spoke to me in ENGLISH). In such a shock at that atrocious behavior I left the package and did not get my refund. I have NEVER been addressed by someone who feels the need to shout in another language because she is too cowardly to say it to my face in English. I will never go back there, although the other two employers were very helpful. That lady needs to learn how to address PAYING clients better.
