I am horrified at the the news of the park's recent application to euthanise the three lions involved in the incident regarding the death of a landowner's employee at the reserve. The employee was walking where he was not supposed to, at a time when he was not supposed to, and a wild animal saw him as prey. How is this the lion's fault??? This reserve claims to be all about conservation, yet the message you put out there is that people can break the rules and do whatever they want and you will simply kill the animals that get in the way. Disgusting!!!! I will withdraw my support from this reserve immediately, and let everyone know that you do not practice what you preach. I loved visiting the park, knowing that by financially contributing to the reserve means that I contribute to conservation in a small way. But I will NOT contribute to a place that puts rule-breaking people ahead of the animals it is supposed to protect. You guys are not a conservation or a reserve. You are no better than a circus that keeps animals in captivity and kill them when they step out of line. I will put reviews about this awful conduct all over the internet and try to make people aware of what you really stand for... and it is NOT wildlife conservation.
I recently found a dog that was going to be put down because his owners couldn't care for him anymore. Being an animal lover, I couldn't let this happen and I intervened. I took the dog into my care temporarily while trying to find a new home for him. I have never rehomed a pet so I didn't know how to go about it, therefore I contacted the people at Wetnose to ask for assistance. I was truly heartbroken and disappointed at the outcome of my "conversation" with them. I explained the situation and said that I understand shelters are always full, and that I am willing to foster the dog until I can find him a new home. I was willing to make donations and do whatever was required of me. I took him to my vet and had his dental and physical health checked, had him dewormed, treated for ticks and fleas, and innoculated. All I needed from the people at Wetnose was help in finding him a home. After my whole story, the only thing that was said to me was "Sorry, we are busy. We can't help you." And the phone was promptly put down in my ear. These are people who claim to love animals and to have their best interests at heart... and they care so little about a dog in need that they are completely unwilling to even direct me to a rehoming shelter that could be able to help. I am so disappointed in Wetnose, and it breaks my heart that the people who are supposed to be giving a voice to animals who don't have a voice of their own, are so completely uncaring. We desparately need shelters and rehoming agencies in this country that actually care about animals, because Wetnose sure doesn't.
I recently joined dotsure pet insurance and was assisted by Suraya Header. She was very friendly and helpful, and it was an absolute pleasure dealing with her. Thank you for excellent service!
