Ive purchased my car from the CMH Eastrand in Feb 2018.Now the problem I have with this dealership is the ill treatment I have been receiving from them and amongst others, the lack of disclosure upon purchasing a car. I am a woman with very little knowledge about vehicles and simply do not know much about the terms and conditions that come with purchasing a vehicle. I’ve been booking my car for service with the dealership simply because my car was under service for 5 years, based on what I have been told. That might sound crazy. But these are the types of examples of misinformation that we are being fed because they will be receiving business from us customers. So my car started having problems with breaks and I reported this to them around late 2018, when I took in my car for service at that time I was told they were being refined. I still had the same problem and informed them, countless times. Having visited the dealership so many times, it was only courtesy for them to inform me that the warranty does not cover breaks. I then took my car in once again for service having the same problem, after causing a fit one of the employees told me that they have installed new breaks. That was untrue, firstly they lied to me as a customer. I went back the next day, and met one of the mechanics/vehicle technicians who then told me that it was not the case and he only refined the discs/breaks. Now this morning, 15 February 2021 I took my car in for service for the 75 000 KM mileage. Only at the door was when I was told that my car was out of the service plan. I have been informed this morning that the car’s service plan was until 60 000KM or 3 year (whichever comes first). My problem was that I was not informed of this prior and I would have taken my car in if that was the case. The very same lady who assisted me is the lady that told me they have installed new breaks in my car previously. I confronted her about the lies she told me and her response was “ That’s what I was told”. All the time when I have visited the dealership and taking my car for service, they have been requesting for my service book. I have been telling them that above all the mistreatment I am receiving from them, I do not even have a service book. I firstly started with the salesman that sold my car to me, and he would tell me that he gave it to my father. My father did not receive any service plan and me either. He would also tell me that it’s not a problem,I can get one when I come to the dealership. On the 60 000 KM after throwing another tantrum, that’s when I received some a book( which is not a service book,rather a substitute to a service book) and the service technician updated that book as my service history was on their system. It’s not even a proper service book, so what will happen when I want to sell my car?? The ill treatment I have been receiving from this dealership is very distasteful, on the day of the service that’s when I’m informed about my car being out of the service plan. The treating customers fairly is not practiced at this dealership. When I requested to speak to the manager, I was told that the manager is busy and that I will receive a call. Till this day, I have not received any call from the manager. All he does is look at me as if I am this crazy woman and look away. Infact all of them look at me like I am this crazy woman. You need to be aware of the mis selling and the misinformation that we are being fed at these dealerships upon purchasing our vehicles. Numerous things are not disclosed to us, and now I have to pay for service that I have not budgeted for and endure all the struggle I had to go through with this dealership. I could have been told on the last service that it was the last one and the next one I would have to pay. I could have been told when I was doing the service booking that my car was out of the service plan. I have been informed this morning when the lady asks me “ are you paying cash or card ”. These dealerships need to be sanctioned for this. The Treating Customers Fairly principles are not being practices and proper information is not disclosed to customers. I need help in lodinging this complaint.
