I booked with African Sun Travel, for Shosholoza Meyl, from JHB to Cape Town Dec2020 and only discovered when we arrived at the JHB station for departure, that Shosholoza is not running. We had to travel by bus, which was very uncomfortable. Still no word from African Sun Travel, that Shosholoza Meyl is not running, even after emailing the consultant Lauren, whom we did the booking with, to advise. Nothing. We contacted Shosholoza Meyl to check if the train will be running back on 3Jan21, and still the train is not running, and no reply or anything from African Sun Travel. We made other arrangements to come back to JHB, advised Lauren that we request the refund. Lauren said that once Shosholoza credits them they will refund. Which is nonsense. You pay them, they must refund. It is now 17 Feb21, still no refund, and no response whatsoever from African Sun Travel. You must pay them to 'secure you booking', but to get a refund is a nightmare. You can only contact the consultant via email or Skype. Absolutely pathetic. No communication from them. I will never book though African Sun Travel again.
