If I could give Takealot 0 stars, I would. I have been a loyal Takealot customer for years and never before have I experienced the level of incompetence I’ve been dealing with lately. The lack of communication between their departments — and with the customer — is beyond frustrating. Recently, I requested a return but then cancelled it after realising my item wasn’t refundable. I even received an email from a Takealot agent confirming the cancellation. Despite this, on Monday and Tuesday (8–9 July), their delivery team arrived at my house to collect the return. I called and spoke to a Takealot representative on Monday to explain that the return had been cancelled, but they still kept sending drivers. Out of sheer frustration, I eventually gave the item to the driver. It’s now been 5 business days, and I’ve received zero updates about the return. No one has contacted me, despite my countless emails and messages. Today, to top it all off, I received yet another SMS saying the delivery team will be coming again tomorrow — to collect the same return item they already have. I’ve been a loyal customer for years, but if this is the level of “service” I can expect whenever I have an issue, then I don’t want to deal with this anymore. Absolutely ***********.
Island fresh. I'm very disappointed. Had I known what I know now, I would've not used your services and gone elsewhere. If I knew that you would just take my money and not deliver, I would've just steered clear of you. I contacted you 2 days ago to enquire about my delivery because my order had not arrived on the set delivery date. You then responded that you can't deliver because my area is out of the delivery coverage. Why then did you deliver the last time I ordered from you? In may this year, I ordered for the first time and my order was delivered on time and I had no issues whatsoever. why did you not say then, 'sorry we cannot deliver as your area is outside coverage area'? Now all of a sudden when its convenient for you to take my money, you now tell me it's outside the coverage area. So convenient in fact that there's not even a contact number to call you on, how so convenient for you and so frustrating for your customers. I have sent numerous emails this morning and they are not getting responded to. I am so disappointed. What you are doing is so unethical and wrong. I hope that people read this review and steer clear far from Island fresh produce. People please be warned, if you are a first time customer, please think very carefully before using their services.
I am really disappointed with Checkers hyper Menlyn. Checkers hyper has a few specials running for the month of May, one of their specials that is advertised on a catalog is for Nescafe coffee 1 200g bottle and 200g refill pack for R159. I went on Saturday to do my grocery shopping and they didn't have the special, I asked the staff and was told that they are out of stock but should get stock in soon. Went back today (Monday) and much to my dismay, they still did not have stock. Why do you advertise if you don't have? And the most frustrating thing is that these specials are exclusive to checkers hyper and not a normal checkers but there are very few checker hypers in Pretoria. About 3 if I'm correct. Please don't advertise stuff on special if you're not going to have it.
