I sent my vehicle to R and R Performance after a minor accident where the steering rod had snapped. While the vehicle was there, I also asked them to repair and replace several additional items including the shocks, brakes, tie-rod ends, stabilizer links, control arms, control arm bushes, and tyres which I was told were new. The vehicle was kept for approximately a month. During this time I later discovered that my car had allegedly been used for personal purposes, including towing and as a bolt service vehicle. From the end of November, when the service was supposedly completed, approximately 6000–7000 km were put onto my vehicle and a speeding fine was issued while it was in their possession. When I eventually received the vehicle back, there was a noise coming from the car which I immediately reported. The vehicle was taken back for another week. After issuing a final demand for my car to be returned in proper working condition, I was told the CV joint had broken and the vehicle could not be delivered. A few days later the car was returned to me in an unacceptable condition. The vehicle was covered in mud and it appeared to have been used for a fishing trip, with mielie bomb and fishing dip spilled on the carpets. There was also a new chip in the windscreen and scratches on the vehicle that were not present before. The tyres that I was charged for as "new" turned out to be very old and badly cracked from age. The noise issue was also never resolved. After sending the vehicle to another mechanic for inspection, it was discovered that the steering column had been welded together instead of properly repaired. The damaged CV was never fixed either. I was informed that I had narrowly avoided a serious mechanical failure because the drive shaft and CV had already seized. This resulted in additional repair costs that I had to cover myself. When I requested a refund, it was initially refused. I was later promised a refund for the tyres as well as payment of the speeding fine, but this has still not been paid. I strongly advise others to carefully consider before doing business with this company. A friend of mine also had a vehicle there for a pulley belt replacement and oil leak repairs, and their car ended up being completely stripped with seats removed, carpets pulled out and even the engine block removed, which caused them significant stress as well.
Even if they were not able to find my dog. They did their absolute best to help and support me even after the initial search they were there for me guiding me with tips and possible hiding places I could check out. Always keep in mind that we dont know how doggie got out or circumstances. But I'm grateful for all their help so far.
